So I was looking into buying some bombs since I have never used them before and figured they could help me out overall. I noticed that the cost of the recipe plus energy to make and cost to make end up being about the same as buying the finished product right from the AH. Looking at the Fiery Vaporizer MKll. It cost 4000cr for the recipe + 1000cr and 200ce(~12000cr) + materials to craft. 4000+1000+12000=17000cr. I can buy it already made for 17899cr in AH. Does it make more sense to craft it or just out right buy it?
Buying in AH vs Crafting
according to ur data:
-if u buy it for 17899cr ..u get a bomb
-if u craft it for 17000cr ..u get a bomb and a recipe
i think u should mention if u have a 2* bomb ready
Don't have a 2* bomb ready.
Same deal but with the Freezing Vaporizer MKll is only 14900cr. Again I don't have the 2* for that either.
Again, with the 6000cr you'll save with mist you can get the recipes and stuff for the 2* and craft yourself.
You'll endup having the bomb AND the recipe to craft and sell later like No-Thanks said.
That means I have to wait for my Mist to regenerate :(
That's the idea, pay an extra to get things right now, or have patience and do it yourself.
Crafting can help you with a little profit by selling popular thing, but if you don't care about it, or about UV crafting, then go to AH.
however, what could you have done with that mist? You could have used it to make 8k in crowns instead. So you should consider the "opportunity cost" of that mist, which would most definitely be over 6k Cr.
In that regards, if you had an alt, put the recipes on the alt and craft on that one with mist. The alt will accrue mist separately if your main account is paid, or the account in on a different computer.
If you have no interests to make an alt, then I suggest you buy if you know you will not be using the recipe in the future. This way you can continue playing while earning more than 6k cr for 100 mist.
It's generally cheaper to buy a 3* item off the AH (well, other than boss token items). The only downside is you miss out on one or two "Free" UV rolls. Given that you can re-roll as many times as you like (crowns permitting) with Punch, this isn't nearly as much of a loss as it used to be.
I also generally discourage crafting with mist, as with a good clockworks run you can make more crowns using 80 or 90 mist than it costs to buy 100 ce. The exception would be for days where you're already planning on not playing.
craft with mist--->lockdown fun day---> sell calibrators
well i guess that's not for evreyone
Here is a scandal: Buy Trinket slots with 50 CE and 100 Mist, then sell it for the price of 100 CE or for 100 CE... PROFIT
easy profit yes, but you get more from playing and getting crowns to buy more ce
likewise even if you buy and learn the recipes (for possible future use) its usually cheaper to buy the gear already made (up to 3*), let those that use mist use their 100 worth of energy while you pay them only 10-25 or whatever, but less than 100. Win win for both sides.
As others have pointed out, for most players, you are better off using your mist to run the clockworks than using it to craft. However, if you plan to craft a lot, you can create alt accounts that do nothing other than quick crafting. These alt accounts either have to be on a completely separate computer that has never been used by your regular account (thus entangling your mist), or at least one of the account must have paid OOO real money.
Just depends on what kind of deal you can get from the AH. If you're not planning to farm for UVs, might as well save the time and effort and buy it pre-made--especially if the difference in cost is that low.
