it just fits better
At first i wondered that too, but now i think that since they are fiendish magical insects that heal your enemies - rather than ''rawr i kill you''-beasts, they fit the Fiend-category better than the Beast one.
And like Nekroskoma said, they still do have some beast-like features.

Fiends and Beasts;
They share a common weakness: Piercing. Both races are vulnerable to it. Silkwings belong to the Fiend-family.

silkwings are the smaller cousins of greavers, u know. look it up.
the have always been fiends
demonic little healers, same weakness as beasts though
