First off, lets get the basics out there. SK isn't freeware... It's a game made by a company for the sole purpose of making money for that said company.
What I don't like is the price creep I see beginning to happen. Without having to use mist for exploring the currency, to some degree, will become devalued. Obviously this is another elevator pass thread. But lets take a look at why I believe this is the beginning of the end of SK's fun times:
The reason? The market will be flooded with excess currency as people can use their mist for crafting lots and lots of 2 and 3* items.
The result? Inflation. What that equals is less buying power for the [casual] consumer.
The evidence? Have you seen the price of CE lately?
As a casual gamer who has put in money to support the game I feel that it won't be long until I'm priced out of the market to make way for 12 year olds who have their parent's credit card.
Here's my plea to the company men who run SK: Make as much money off of elevator passes as you can. Make it an elite status symbol that can be bought and traded. We've seen the massive inflation already, and as more people realize what free elevator rides mean, it's going to get worse. Set the price, as some have said, at $11.95 or $9.95. And keep the 30 day limit. Or better yet, shorten it. Make it an intense experience that brings huge profits and appeals to the hardcore gamer... That way the casual gamer can keep putting in a couple bucks to support the game without being priced out of the market because they still use mist to explore.
