Let me tell you a little story. One insomniac evening some number of months ago, I was sipping on a Volt Oil and Soul Dust cocktail (what else am I going to do with 'em? :v) as I flipped through the wiki to determine what sorts of shields I'd like to acquire in my time on Cradle. The decision to make any given item is not a purely practical one for me: if it looks nice, well... stats aside, I might just have an OVERRIDING NEED to make it my own somehow. My Wiki Effect trance brought me to the page for the Darkfang Shield.
Now, one could say that I kinda like Gremlins. Just a little bit of a whole lot. Needless to say, I vowed that I would eventually track down one of these creatures to wear around town, no matter if it came before or after they were released as token items!
Friends, today was that day. :3
P.S.: In case it wasn't clear from the above, no, I'm not sellin' it. :B

Well, Unity's proved that it is dropped by Treasure boxes, that's certainly useful, except that the drop rate is already near zero. Not to mention it has to compete with everything else that might possibly drop.
I can just see that guy flaunting that shield off everywhere.

Not sure if you were paying attention to its number of stars, but...it's a four-star shield, mate, so it belongs in Tier 3. Even then, it's still a shield, the one item you cannot use in Lockdown.
Congratulations on your exceedingly rare drop, Unity! I am envious.

@Shidara Ah, well I don't play LD, so I wouldn't know.
And I could've sworn it was a 3*...Oh well. A rare item's still rare. whether you want to Sell it for a large CE Profit or Equip it & make every player become in shock & awe at your gleaming shield, it's up the the OP & I wish the best of luck to everyone else in finding another one.

In a situation like this, there's only one thing to do: Find out if it really is impossible to completely remove all the fur stuck to it.
Also, can you compare its stats with what's posted on the wiki? The description and stats don't seem to line up. (the description says it has fire and shock resistance, but the stats say only shock)

Been trotting around town with it. Can confirm that the tooltip stats line up and it really only does have shock resistance, despite the description. /shrug

there have been two of them sold on AH recently (last 2-3 wks) both went for less than 1.3m (1.1 and 1.2 i think).
also, porky-pig (by any of his ign's) has one.
i think i've seen about 5-6 of them go through the bazaar/ah so far.

I'm suprised people wouldn't sell a shield like this. I mean, of course it's rare, but you could get a frikkin halo, wings or something WAY more cool than an old rusty shield!
I know you said you were a gremlin fan, but maan, there are a lot of cooler shields than this one o_O and it's a 4 star...
You can PROBABLY get a LOT of CE for it p:

Common people just don't get it..
It's the Collector's Drive. If you are a collector, you won't give up on it. Simple as that.
Personally, if I got that shield, I would demand no less than prismatic mecha wings, helm-mounted display, wings and halo all at once to give it up to you. Sounding outrageous to you? Not to me. Fork those prismatic accessories over or beat it.
