The wiki description for the Impostocube says something like "more well groomed than his slimy counterpart."
Does this mean that all jellies have hair, but the Impostocube is the only one that combs his hair and smokes a pipe?
So would the spikes really be clumps of hair and regular jellies are punks?

No all slimes have hair in their jelly but the impostocube is the only one that arranges it into something that actually looks like hair

Well...

Grooming is not always indicative of hair. A bald person can still be well groomed.

Technically "groomed" could just mean clean. In this case it's just being funny. It doesn't imply other slimes have hair.

Assuming...

So assuming our slimy friend didn't grow the slick whiskers; where did he get the toupee?

Maybe the horns on the slimes

Maybe the horns on the slimes are like on the rhinoceros - they're not real horns and bones but thickly formed hair that's grown in the shape of a horn. Maybe Mr. Impostocube didn't like the hair style so popular amongst his fellow slimes and instead decided to comb his hair into a toupee.

Or he killed someone and took their toupee.

Obviously it made an under-the-table deal with the GMs for 100000000000 CE and stocked up on Lockboxes :P

That or they bought it straight from the GMs

All slimes have hair!

The hair are not from the slimes themselves... it's gremlin and wolver hair that the slimes picked up as they move about.

Most slimes have hair all over, but spread so thin on its surface it's undetectable. Impostocubes are jellies that groom those hair into mustache and toupee.
