So I jumped in a random party in T2 on the current snarby gate to open up T3 for farming (need me some Spark of Life), and of course ended up in D9. No level skipping for me, I guess.
The party I land in is just one guy, looked like he was pretty new to T2 (I only spotted one 3* item on him) though he was playing pretty well. Not quite dodging as much as he could have been, and was a little quick on the energy revive when I was still alive and could have revved him, but he seemed to know how to shield and either I'm getting really good at dodging or he was being really conservative with his calibur charge attacks, I dunno.
Anyways, we get down to depth, I dunno, 14 or 15, wherever the second graveyard on that gate is, and we "luck out" and land in the treasure vault instead. I kinda roll my eyes but given that I'm just on this gate to open up T3 for free farming it's not that big a deal. God bless the elevator pass.
We go around popping boxes and killing Kleptolisks, and out of one of the boxes drops a Prismatech Alchemer. I pause in a moment of "omgwtf" before picking it up, and it goes to me.
I'm pretty sure at this point that equipment drop rates must have been tweaked, 'cause this is the third equipment drop in as many weeks... in fact, it's been exactly 3 equipment drops over the past 3 weeks. Firotech on the 22nd, Firo driver on the 28th, and now a Prismatech on the 5th. (I don't actually write these things down, I just checked the dates on the screenshots on my steam thingie)
Anyway, we clear out the rest of the boxes and get to the elevator, and I ask the guy "what kind of gun do you have?". He says he's just got a proto, so I give it to him instead. I could tell he appreciated it 'cause he equipped it on the very next level. Granted it was a wolver den so it didn't actually see much use, but all the same I think it brightened his day.

I haven't personally seen much a change in item drops, and I run FSC 2-8 times a day depending on circumstances. I've seen four item drops over my entire SK playtime, but then again, I don't do a lot of danger rooms or anything.

I think its been tweaked as well. Yesterday on a FSC run i saw 2 equips dropped from boxes, a blazebreak armor and a skelly helm i think..

my story
I found a graviton charge (4-star) in a box, oh joy, oh happiness, I pick it up and..
it goes to a guildie.
I'm a bomber he's not.
I ask if He can share since he got it for nothing and I need it, I ask if I can buy it from him, he say that he'll thing about it..
Next elevator he equipped it.
I hate him so bad.

Yesterday....
I was in fsc and at the boxes after vanaduke a fiery vaporizer mk 2 was dropped, and suprizingly I had got it, I really didn't expect it(last time I got anything it was a crystal bomb and was a long time ago,like when I started SK, in a tier 1 treasure vault(I was solo). I don't know if it helped but I had opened the box and walked up to the item and it went to me. Doubt it will go to me next time XD. If they did tweak the drop rates then I am happy(thank you GMs!), it is good for newer players and 5 star players also deserve a break now and then too.

Saw a dragon shield drop from a box on a run a few days ago--tier 3 jelly farm. Also the first equip drop I had seen in a while, last had been a punch gun a few months ago (punch gun went to me, shield, of course, went to someone else :/)

Drops I have seen:
Shocking edge: From a tier 2 arena. Yeah, tier TWO. And not one in the beginning. Went to a friend, and we all laughed.
Toxic Vaporizer: Got it from soloing a Tier 2 poison Danger Room. When we had troubles with old Royal Jelly. A godsend.
Angelic Helm: From Dark City - Sinful Steps. Went to another friend, has it in their inventory unbinded.
That is all I got since joining. Prior joining SK with Steam.

I only got two drops from my
I only got two drops from my 7 month of playing Spiral Knights, both were from T2.
The first I got was a Brute Jelly Shield from an arena before RJP, and the second was the 4* Skelly Suit which I only noticed after the run. I think I may have gotten it from a pre-Basil Undead arena.
I was solo at both those times so the equipment drops went to me. I sold the Brute Jelly Shield on AH and sold the Skelly Suit to a friend for 200 CE (kind of wanted to sell it for more lol).

Just yesterday, D22 arena.
Random joins near the end of round III, last monster drop goes to him (Sun Silver), gets a Skelly Suit from a treasure box right after. Looked like he was a recent 4*, so good on that fellow.

I just got done with a Royal
I just got done with a Royal Jelly fight where one of the first wave of support jellys was an impostocube and one of the boxes at the end dropped a wolver cap, didn't go to me but it was pretty cool that both happened in the same fight.
I personally have received a crystal bomb (sold it) and a toxic vaporizer (use for jelly runs) from equipment drops.

hehe did a T3 run with
hehe did a T3 run with somebody i just met on a royal jelly run (i invited somebody for a trade and asked if he would come with me, he said yes and wanted to invite some friends... yadeyada haha) so T3 run i see him walking around in 4* equipement (and realy afraid to run a T3 arena) and he had a silent nightblade (he was looking for shadow steel and also a volcanic iron for something else) so we did a fiend lvl (i found the shadow steel so picked it up and he got it -> otherwise i would have given it to him) and next map (because we where kind of low on pills) we decided to do a deconstruction zone and again i see the volcanic iron laying there, so again i pick it up and he got it :D
i knew he was happy finding this stuff (volcanic iron is tough to find) if it was me i would sell those things because i didn't need them haha but he needed it so i'm glad he got it (eighter way i would have given him the mats just to help him out)
also on my solo T3 run (shock theme) i did a wolver den (high voltail) and found 2! spark of life (and the map before it dropped of a scuttlebot haha)
oh and i found a 4* freezebomb (freezing atomizer)

found Vile Stiker 4* on the way to FSC ~2wks ago
About 2 wks ago I found a Vile Striker 4* while soloing my way through the fiend hell of stratum 5 on my way to FSC. I about crapped myself. Anti-social tendencies can pay off...
I have the DVS recipe, but if I find a buyer who will offer at least in the ballpark of what a 4* item is worth I will sell it in a heartbeat. *shameless plug*.

Before that the only drops I had was a [whatever that dead-end 1* stun shield with star is called, huge meh] and an autogun which I promptly crafted into a needle shot & sold.
I do run with parties sometimes, but I have been crazy lucky that the few drops I have seen have been solo. Aren't drop rates supposed to be better in parties? or did I just make that up? wait I'm thinking of Borderlands (nevermind).

I got a Fireburst Brandish, quite the feat in a party of 4. It was wonderful :D
I went on to sell it at the Auction House for 15k, but had anyone asked for it before we reached T3, I guess I would have sold it on the spot for much less.

well not realy rare but
well not realy rare but gremlins don't realy pop up that much in the clockworks (except for deconstruction zone) making that one a bit harder to find hehe. think you can get around 3K for 1 in the AH :)
also a friend of mine found a ionized salt bomb (yes that piece of crap haha) and he sold it for 2,4K ce (yes 2400CE people) i was there when he sold it but i don't think he made a screen of the chatlog :( still i had to run away because i wanted to laugh so hard after that... (he actualy offerd that mind you haha. and my friend even said he found it but he insisted to pay the unbinding fee plus something extra haha)

I guess I probably picked them up doing Jigsaw Valley and Decon Zone levels. One of the previous gates I was farming was beast in S5 and construct in S6 (with jigsaw valley and a bunch of decon zones), and then the vana gate has been gremlin in S5 all week.
Speaking of which, I'm bitterly disappointed in the mineral dumpers that there isn't a good S5 or S6 beast stratum. (I think there was an S6 one with shock in S5, but I'm not sure if it's scrolled out yet)

And both times I've got one in the inventory, so I didn't actually gotten any drops yet
Best I got in T2 was a Force Buckler. :/
