It wasn't easy. It was my first time killing him. I've been trying to do this for some time. I've used hundreds of crystal energy trying this in the past and decided not to do that again. If he kills me, I die and start over without reviving. I've tried it many times. I was using my standard issue equipment that I always wear. Tonight, his blood is on my sword.
Has anyone else tried to take him down alone? How long did it take? How much did it cost you?
Didn't cost me much. After I beat him with a partner, I could solo him no-deaths easy peasy. Unless they changed him in the past month or two.
U did it with Proto gear? I managed it with Proto gear + Calibur.
Once you figure out what to do, he's a pushover.

It's pretty easy. Dance around (if you stay quiet the spike will hit you) until he desides to take a bite and bam.
I always soloed it because some people don't understand how the bell works so i rage leave the team.
On a sidenote I've done it in proto and 5*
Its too easy really. I even made a bet who would win first with a guy ( he lies obviously I see his floor # in the social tab) and I won.

Yes, some people do not understand the mighty and complex rhythm you need with a bell. I dont wanna hear Carol of the Bells while Snarby noms our face >.>

I've been soloing him everytime after my first fight with him with a group.
Using my wild hunting blade and without shielding

i solo'ed him over 20 times with an elemental sword in 2-3* stuff.
in less then 5 mins....
I used the Cobalt armor and helm with the calibur. The spikes were easy. It was the stabbing instead of shooting that took awhile. After getting frustrated trying every gun, I just went crazy on him with a sword. :D
I beat him solo in all-Proto gear the first time I faced him. Ironically, he was harder the second time around.
I just sat in the middle, shield up, walking away from his attacks till he walked over to me, whacked the ball, sliced him to bits.
Rinse and repeat about 3 times, and he was dead in 2 mins.
I was wearing Proto and a Calibur at the time. That was IT. CALIBUR was my only upped gear.
Magnus carried me and my proto group. <3 SIKE. PSSH. Next to the Roarmulus Twins in T2, Snarbie boss is pretty easy. I still prefer parties in Twins tho, even if i could solo it probably take me too long.
The only part of the fight I find difficult is when the bell stun glitches and doesn't work.
That said: congrats, OP! I hope you have many more successes against Sir Snarblebottom, the gear you get with fang tokens is some of the best in the game. Use it well.
The last time I did Snarby I had to ring the bell only twice. Even then it took only a wack or two once he was stunned. Easy, peazy! Only had issues the first time I did this boss. Never died after that.
I agree on the equipment bought with the tokens. I bought all of them and still have something like 46 bark tokens in my bag.
hmm maybe 30 seconds? depends on how fast he gets his cute furry butt close to the bell :)
first time i was solo when i came into the boss stratum (didn't know what it was haha) so died, returned to haven, did the whole run again and opend up a can of woop-ass on him (that will teach him scaring the living hell out of me the first time)
now he's just a pet :)

really? my first solo kill on him took like 5 minutes, and i was using my proto gear. he is really not that hard. just stay close to the bell, when he comes close hit it and attack spam. shield while at bell. easy as that.
There's this fancy thing called piercing damage. Try a flourish. Literally done in under 3 minutes.
The first time I soloed him, I had full 2* Wolver gear, a Cutter, and a Bristling Buckler. Took me 15-20 minutes because he would refuse to pop up near the bell. Used 2/3 of my healing items.
Of course once you've gone through tier2 a bit, he becomes a cakewalk.
Solo Vanaduke without dying, in proto gear. I double-dog-wolver dare you.
I find it fun to go to tier 1 and fight snarby in full snarby gear (BTB, BTS, Snarby cap/armor) just for the lawls.
Shadow lair snarby seems more fun (Beat Snarby and Snarbett 6 times).. but doesn't have the same atmosphere as the original, which was the best part of GW.

I can solo him in sub level 5 proto gear easy. First thing I did on my alt was to run snarbolax 15 times for snarble barb, half of those were solos (or effectively solos, because my partners were soooo useless)
