Ivorise - It's a little too early to tell on that, I think. : ) A single set of each color being featured for all to see might actually help raise popularity of the sets, but it will all depend on how often they get introduced.
Like accessories, there will always remain a relatively steady demand for items that are rare enough to be featured in that section, and they bind permanently. In the meantime... I may watch and see what happens!
@Rubyeclipse: I think its so predictable already, isn't it. The rare accessories that you bought came out twice already. Though yup I guess the only thing you could do right now is to wait and see what happens next.
I suppose we shall just have to wait and see. At least we have put our points across, like i said before...i just hope they know where the line is.

This to me implies that they wont, or havent even thought of something like this. I have faith that they wont bring back rare items such as this and that they know their consumer well enough not to do so.
As has already been pointed out to you, the whole point of what Nick said is:
a.) Darkfang shields may be extremely rare, but are still currently available in-game, and were never given away as a promotional item.
b.) Darkfang shields could absolutely appear as a featured auction tomorrow if that's what 000 wanted to do--anything they see as within reason could be featured at any time.
Like I told Ruby being an owner of rose sets as well its better to just wait and sell them off, and we still make profit off the sets, but maybe not as much as before, but still a hefty amount for sure.
Why we can't return Shadow Key?
We can give vendors Helmets, Armor, Handguns, Swords, Shields, e.t.c. But not Shadow Key.
It seems like the majority of people are complaining about losing their status symbols. Or at least their status symbols becoming less statusy. I don't have much sympathy for this argument. It seems like this could be very good for the game. A lot of people complain about a decline of new players. This seems like a good way to keep some new people interested. I could even imagine a(n unlikely) world where these items increase in value because of the featured auctions (new players with a lot of purchased CE could drive demand up beyond the increase in supply).
I do understand that people feel deceived, which is not good.
There may be more pairs of brothers, but no pair is as neat as that little fishy dude and his tank obsessed brother.
As someone who bought and at one point stockpiled the old rose sets, I see no problem with this at all. They only put a set of each up. It's the same thing as if I or another player finally decided it was time to sell them. There has and will continue to be old rose sets unbound in many people's inventory, still popping up for sale occasionally. The only difference with this is everyone's going to see them this time.
This doesn't make your stocked sets worthless nor any less rare.
To all the people saying "next thing you know Groundbreaker sets will be on AH" : THIS WILL NEVER HAPPEN.

a. I was using Darkfang as a symbol of what i think 'the line' would be.
b. I understand what was said by Nick, and was just voicing my opinion on what i hope was implied in his statement.
I understand your point just fine, thanks. Just trying to stress that what you see as "the line" can and will be crossed whenever 000 feels like it, which, despite what you hope was implied, is what Nick actually said. All of the rare accessories that have been in the AH since the featured auctions started are, in fact, just like the darkfang--rare, non-promotional items that are currently available in-game--so your point is moot.

Also, the accessories aren't like the darkfang...they can be found in lockboxes, darkfang is unattainable at present.

They haven't gone anywhere. Still available, albeit rare. And likely coming to an AH near you. As Rommil said, if nothing is sacred, nothing is sacred. That's all I'm saying. You can hope all you like. If you don't like my tone, however, MMO forums probably aren't for you.
@Redzie Darkfang can drop from prize boxes. Very, very, very, very rarely. If you want an actual unavailable item, the Magikat Hat and Purring Cap haven't shown up since beta.
Well the featured auctions should be exclusives only to the ah through these sales. I rather liked the limited supply of 500 items. This made them collectable. If you put one auction much like the scissors sword once a week and stopped putting rare items people farm for to sell or for themselves it would not ruin the economy of the players who do not buy CE because without the people farming crowns or selling items to buy the CE people pay cash for the exchange system will eventually bottom out. I belive it would be great to have the various colors (Fingers crossed blue tabard of rose.) but leave the privious items such as plasmatech demo suit and helm or CE exclusive items as just that rare things that only people who buy stuff for cash can get. This would also transfer over to exclusive items like the bribe only rare bomb head masks (cursed bomb head mask, checkered bomb head mask,ect.) from the PVP and iron lock box costume items. Because it take time and a lot more CE to get those items then just selling your CE for crowns and buying them off the AH. These items are not only show you put in the time and effort to get them but also give players character just that character and makes them want to hold on to them. If some joe public with too much money can just buy the same things then why would anyone want to spend so much time on somthing yet have nothing to show for it. Heck, we could get the same reward out of Minesweeper with less time investment.

As a some what newer player, my opinion is slightly different, if all the chapeaus were now bound I could understand the argument for them being kept special. However this is not Ruby's argument, he does not what to stop "new" players from having them, this was about market protection, older players have ready had a great deal of competitive advantage over newer players (not least the devaluation of the crown), the chapeaus if sold now they represent atleast a 6 times return on investment, at least 10 times that if they crown figures were used. What 3 rings are doing buy selling them for CR is giving cheaper CE to newer players who are the future of the game. As they are being sold for crowns, 3 rings makes nothing doing this. While it is good to respect the people who have previously supported the game a balance with the people currently playing their way up the game is needed.
I do think there is some need for players to told what is going on, the situation with shadow keys burnt many people, perhaps they were greedy or stupid, but I was in a small way one of them. The problem with buying from a featured auction is we now have no way of knowing how long it will be before they will be available again, and even if the price will be dropped in the future which happened mid auction with the new chapeaus. As this has been mine experience, it does put me off splashing out on any items. I think the people buying Sissorblades violet/pink chapeaus should get 6 months to enjoy them before people get another chance with the items, and when they do only single lots should be available. To support the market it would be good if unused items like keys, and accessories, which are still available could be cashed in for half their original value. This would encourage people to gamble more.
As the groundbreak hat has never been tradable I personally do not believe it should ever be offered for sale on the auctions, PAX codes have been sold so they are accessible by non original players so should not be protected.
@Rubyeclipse: I guess you should start selling your 1st edition rose regalia sets now before more enter the Featured Auctions.
