Might as well, these lesser used mats I accumulate I sell to the vendors for crowns; mailing them elsewhere is as good as mailing off crowns.

Scrap Metal
I gave a guy 100 scrap metal the other day. Not a big deal because I can't get 100 crown for that many. Light Shards are different though. I can fetch 50 or so crown for 20. I have over 1300 in my box too, so I'm not just going to give them away. Sorry.

actually, you can sell those
actually, you can sell those 100 scrap metal to a vendor for 100 crowns
0 & 1 star materials sell for 1 crown
2 stars mats sell for 5
3 stars for 10
4 stars for 25
5 stars for 50
so if you can't get those prices on the AH, you are better off selling them to a vendor

Uhhhhh, it works better if you pick a mat that has little to no use and drops at an insanely large amount... Gel Drops, Ecto Drops, Scrap Metal, Brimstone, etc. Shards always have a market as they're always needed.

Although light and dark
Although light and dark shards seem to be much less used than the others. I have tons of lights and darks, very few blues.
