Idea for a Colliseum game

Just to clarify, this is not my original idea; some of you older readers may remember, back in the mists of time, a Playstation 1 game called Future Cop: LAPD. Those of you lucky enough to have played may remember the awesome multiplayer mode it had, and I believe that, with a few changes, it could be adapted into a Colliseum game mode (well, they copied Bomberman, what's to stop them from copying a discontinued PS1 game?)

Anyway, so here goes...a new game type called FORTRESS ASSAULT!

Played in games of 1v1, Fortress Assault sees two Spiral Knights building armies of Constructs to attack and overwhelm their opponent!

Each player starts off in a base, ala Lockdown (There aren't class mods though; you just have your normal shield. Make sure it's suitable for the tier!). In each base is a generator pad, linked to a switch. Hitting the switch will create a Hover-Tank from the generator.

Hover-Tanks are special constructs with a Gun-Puppy style weapon and strong engines that prevent them from being Shield-bumped or blocked. Once created, tanks will immediately begin seeking out your opponent's base, following one of several preset routes through the map. Upon reaching it, they will move through the force field barrier protecting the entry/exit, and when they do, you win!

...Unless of course, your opponent gets one into your base first. In addition to creating tanks, you must both escort them to stop them being destroyed, and watch out for your opponent's tanks as well. They don't always follow the same route to your base, so don't focus on just one part of the map!

That's the basics. Now for the complicated rules...

-You can hit the generator switch as quickly as you can manage to create tanks rapidly, but each tank costs a point to create. Each player starts the game with about 5 -10 points, but once those are gone, you must earn more by destroying enemy units (gives you one point), or seeking out and defeating the enemy player (gives you lots of points, plus sends them back to their base crying like a baby!)

-As well as the tank generator, there is another switch/generator in you base that produces Jet-Choppers. Choppers do not seek out the enemy base, and don't win you the game if they end up in it by accident. Instead they help out by roaming the map, attacking any enemy units they encounter. Like tanks they have a Gun-Puppy weapon, but unlike tanks they CAN be blocked or shield-bumped.

-Each base entrance is guarded by a series of Gun-Puppy style turrets. These are tough and powerful, but once destroyed, can not be replaced. They may hold off the tanks for a while, but they won't last forever, and once they fall, it's up to you to shore up the hole in your defence!

-Scattered throughout the map are neutral turrets that initially do nothing, but when stood next to by a player for a split second, will A) come under their control, attacking enemies, and B) award the player with a free point! As such, the first thing you will generally want to do upon starting a match will be to run out and grab as many neutral turrets as possible for the points. Neutral turrets will reappear after a while if destroyed, but in their neutral state - you will have to reclaim them before they will fight for you again.

-Halfway between the two player bases, but off the most direct routes between the two, one can find Outposts. Each outpost has a switch in it; in exchange for 30 points, you can hit the switch, capturing the outpost. Outposts have their own tank/chopper generators that you can use, allowing you to produce units much closer to the enemy base than they can to yours! There is always more than one outpost however in a level, and you can only capture one per match. Keep your opponent away from the other one to stop them getting the same advantage!

-If you manage to save up 50 points, you can opt, via a third and fourth switch in your base, to call forth either the Dreadnought or the Flying Fortress. Super powerful versions of the Hover-Tank and Jet-Chopper respectively, they can turn the tide of a battle all by themselves, so activate them at the right moment!

-Unlike the other colliseum game modes, Fortress Assault has an announcer who warns players of major events, specifically:
-When a player captures an Outpost
-When a player activates their/destroys the enemy Dreadnought or Flying Fortress
-When a base turret is under attack/destroyed
-When a tank/Dreadnought is close to entering the opposing base

So yeah. Get one of your Hover-Tanks into the enemy base, before they get one into yours!
