As we know, the 5* Vaporizers have a massive blast radius. Having never played Tier 3 Lockdown before, I have a question. To ensure that my team gets a flag forever, wouldn't I just have to max out CTR (trinkets + bombing set + heat + Recon) and stand stationary on that flag while spamming a Shivermist Buster/Voltaic Tempest?

Hmm…
With 4 weapon slots, I could carry a Polaris/Sentenza and 3 status bombs right? So if I get my ass kicked once by an opponent resistant to the status bomb I was using, I could just run back, take out an alternate Vaporizer (which the guy probably doesn't have max resistance to), and spam that instead. Ex. if the guy had max freeze resist I could use a Voltaic Tempest/Ash of Agni against him.

Just a note, you only need a fully heated bomb and the recon shield to get max CTR. The recon gives med CTR to everything stacked with med CTR to bombs, and a fully heated bomb gets its own med CTR so you're at max.

Your strategy isn't something
Your strategy isn't something that hasn't already been thought of, others have already proven that it's very effective.
It's so effective that players almost always walk around with a gun. This will interupt your charging.
Besides that I see a lot of serious pvpers in Skolver walk around with max shock on their armor pieces, just to be immune to voltaic tempests (besides already being immune to shivermists). Ash of agni doesn't do enough damage to be a deterrent, strikers will dive in and kill you before running back to base and heal. Stagger storm works to a degree, but stun isn't perfect like freeze and they'll just be slower at killing you.
That strategy will only work until you face someone with a projectile weapon or max resistance against your status bomb.
For instance, a Skolver will run straight through your Shivermist and hit you in the face with a toothpick until you die.
Max resist = unaffected by haze status.
