Manged to jump into a few T1 lockdown matches today. Figured I'd give recon gunning a go with my Pummel Gun. I managed to do a bit better in previous games, this one didn't go as well for me.
But I'm not ashamed to share my failures.
I think the frost gun, zapper and super stun only do their status on the charge shots. I might switch to one of them anyway, though for the most part I do bombing in T1 just like I do in T2, except with much, much smaller bombs. I'm already planning to swap in a Heavy Hatchet in place of my Hot Edge, it's just been a low priority since it's so hard to get into T1 games.
I did go back to heal a few times in other games, but I think I'm too used to how quickly I shred people in T2 and make them drop those sweet, cinammony hearts. Or maybe I'm spoiled by having guardians on my team who actually shield-heal me, I dunno.
I did say it wasn't my greatest game. :D
Cool video. I think you would have better luck with the 3-shot clip guns as you mentioned, although they do even less damage than Pummel Gun.
I would love to play more T1 LD games, and amazingly I managed to get into a few this weekend! Sadly, they rarely, rarely occur.
Please let me know if you plan to get some more started.

I would suggest using a frost gun instead of a pummel gun since few players have freeze resist.
Also why do you never go back to heal?
