The Stranger Hat Market Crash

A few hours after the explorer pack came out there are now over 50 Stranger hats been auctioned, some going for as low as 12k cr for the buyout price, unless you got a sniped hat one would be hard pressed to make a good profit from selling their hat at this time.
Here are the current lowest buy prices when I last checked
I bought an explorer pack a few hours ago just after they came out and was disappointingly given a military stranger hat that I really didn't want. I figured I may as well sell it and hopefully get some crowns out from it.
At the time when I checked the AH Stranger Hats had only just started appearing and most were been put up at about 200k-100k for buyout price with starting bids of 50k-10k. Only having a military hat I figured I would have to post it at a relatively minimum value to have a chance of making a sale, so I decided to post it with a starting bid of 10k with a buyout price of 98k.
What I found when I checked about an hour later.
I just played the market and won big time considering the massive price drop, 98k for something going at 12k now :D
Someone out there got shafted badly and is probably pounding their head on their keyboard...

I was the first one to put a sniped hat up for auction. I had no idea what it would go for so I put it up for 150k cr, no buyout, 4 hour duration. It sold for 330k cr (some people did get higher sale values with buyouts). When you consider how amazing a deal the explorer pack is, and you consider the sheer volume of purchases that are going to be happening, it's pretty easy to see that the market is going to be flooded with these things. So I sold mine early before people realized the real value.
I fully expect sniped hats to drop to something like 80k each if not less, and the others to be practically worthless in a few days.

@Kwizzy Lockboxes went back
@Kwizzy Lockboxes went back up in price amusingly and Silver Keys seem to have dropped by about 10kcr or so. Dunno about the accessories themselves though.

A little while after I put
A little while after I put the first sniped hat up on AH I saw four people wearing them in Haven. Yeah.
Lockboxes: Several people, me included, bought out a ton of lockboxes in hopes that the price would go up. I relisted all of mine (~35 of them) at a higher price and all of them sold. Should have bought more and listed them higher, but I made a killing on that.
Silver Keys: I don't think people like selling their silver keys rather than using them. The price hasn't dropped all that much.
Accessories: Vastly increased accessory supply, no increase in accessory demand. Prices are going to go down more.
7 Day Heat Amps: Nobody actually wants these. I really don't know what OOO was thinking when they set the prices on the heat amps. Some of them are bidding at 20k cr, although I'm not sure if that's people actually wanting them or people thinking they're getting a good deal. A lot of them are listed at a higher price with no bids. I feel that the value of these is going to end up around 200 CE if not lower.

There's no market for the
There's no market for the heat amps but there is no point in not using them, either.
I, personally, have about 10 items that need heat right now so I'm very glad to have the amps.

Sold a Sniped Hat for 215Kcr
Sold a Sniped Hat for 215Kcr not 2 hours ago. Also thought about holding on to it and sell it after a month or two, but i didnt. I think this explorer deal is so insanely good that loads of ppl are going to take it. This means that loads of these sniped hats will appear on AH also. The price will drop fast over the next couple of days. Doubtfull they'll sell for more than 200Kcr after a week. My advise, if these Hats are not your thing: Sell asap.

I just played the market and won big time considering the massive price drop, 98k for something going at 12k now :D
Its always like that when a new item arrives. The Mod Calibrator the first day the Krogmo Coins were available went for 120k on the Ah. By the second day it was down to 12k. If there is a new item in SK and you want to swindle the suckers for massive amounts of money you only got 6hrs usually to do it.
Heh, I want a sniped hat, but I'm going to wait until late December to get it. With a CE package this good, I'm sure lots of people are going to buy them and the price of those hats will drop. Fingers crossed anyways. ;p
I'm seeing normal coloured hats going for under 10k now, it's kind of amazing how fast the price dropped.
