I think we are cyborgs. We have feelings(emotes) and we can taste(description of jelly gems). Energy is a sustanace that we use to revive,Upgrade and live. We don't need to eat, but we do it for the sake of it.

It's just a matter of knowing
It's just a matter of knowing if the knights are organics or not, if they are then yeah they must eat something (dumb example: snipes). If they are not organic, then they must power up with energy.

When reading the description
When reading the description on some items (materials) it says that the item may be eaten as emergency food for stranded knights..
And some other stuff can be used as cooking items.. So, the knights are probably organic..
We just dont se that, becouse of the armor they wear.
About needing energy to live? then why are they only using it to power the elevators and transmute machines?
Exactly.. they dont drain energy simply by when moving around.. ..
