Guten Tag leute von Spiral Knights.
(Good day people of Spiral Knights)

Here's My suggestion, but first i'm going to start out with a bit of a story to start this off.

So as a player of spiral knights who is entertained by learning new things here and there that can apply to the world outside. I generally love going to the German servers to hang out with the people there, as well as learning some vocabulary in the process. There are days that I stay up rather late to try and group up with a few people, so obviously I have "Party with Any"(Mehrsprachige Gruppen) checked off, especially having the game set on German (Deutsch) most of the time. As much fun as I have with this there are a few complications that seem to occur.

Many, Many, Many times I am grouped with people who speak Spanish, and only Spanish. It's not that it is a bad thing, usually even with the language barrier we still kill Vanaduke or have a great couple rounds in Lockdown. I actually have a few Spanish speaking friends on SK from some of these great runs. However it was inevidible that I have people that keep asking me questions in walls of text that I can't understand, and It freaks me out just a little. Now one could say "Use Google Translate lol" or "Bring a friend who understands Spanish lol". I believe that there are a few flaws in this though.

Number One: Google Translate DOES NOT SAVE YOU! Using a translator online is one of the sketchiest things you can do in order to communicate. Google translate does some weird things to your sentences. One of my German friends here in SK and I were having fun with it one night and we got some, shall we say, interesting results. All in all, Google Translate is bad.

Number Two: As much as bringing a friend who knows another language that you don not helps when your in a group. This is entirely fool proof, as sometimes you go and join a group by yourself and end up the same mess.

So here is what I am suggesting. That when you have "Party with any checked off" that there would be another set of check boxes that has the different available languages to select from so that you are grouped with people that can speak one of two of the languages you speak.

As much as I love people voicing their opinion on the matter. please refrain from using these phases around the areas of:

"You can speak English, grouping with people who speak the same language shouldn't be a problem for you."
"Why do you care? If you want to talk to people then go to the other language's haven and talk to people."

"The Clockworks/Lockdown is all about being able to communicate effectively to each other. If you don't speak all four languages fluently then you shouldn't have "Party with Any"checked off."

I'm saying this because it's more than just "playing the game" , but it is enjoying the game for what it is. Being able to talk to people across the globe from different cultures is something that I very much enjoy about this game. Sometimes it is not the game's content that attracts you to the game, but the people you play it with.

Dankeschön für Ihre zeit.
