Spy Inc. presents: The black market!

Spy Inc. is proud to release it's latest, greatest tool: The black market! Tired of only finding overpriced recipes in the auction house? Found an interesting recipe at Basil's, but don't want to risk buying it? Then the black market is the tool for you!
The black market acts as a matchmaking bulletin board. You want to buy a recipe? Post a note! You found a recipe in the clockworks? Search the notes! It's dead simple, you only have to haggle yourself!

^ This forum search feature sucks xD
Thats more than enough when searching something specific and end up necroing a 3 months old thread that wasnt graveyarded.

Hey, the idea is great. But lets face it, not all ppl are... ok, lets say it "clever".
There will be massive problems with naming things, they will either put their own names for things or casual names instead of the actual names of items or they will just spell the names wrong so in outcome there will be full base of stuff but noone would be able to find anything. If there would be a droplist with items to choose from it would save a lot of problems with naming stuff in right way.
Also is it operational right now? And how fast it updates? I just posted an offer to buy stuff and tried to search it and couldnt find it.

@Nordlead
ok, not trying to put down your work, but why would I use this over the bazaar forums? Less people will know about this then the forums already provided.
Why would you use the bazaar forum, when there is an ingame auction house? Why would you use the auction house, when there is a trade chat? The answer pretty much is: the black market is yet another channel through which you can trade and it fills a more specialized niche than what you already have. It was basically born out of the following use case:
/g hey, could you have a look if Basil has recipe X?
/g Hey, Basil has this nifty recipe, could someone check to auction house if it would sell?
But to answer your questions, here are some advantages of the blackmarket over the other alternatives:
- No listing/sales fee as in the auction house
- Less spammy than the trade chat
- Does not require you to set up a forum account
- (Hopefully) faster than the alternatives
- Request, not supply driven.
- Smaller risk when buying recipes.
And yes, there are probably a number of drawbacks as well. Feel free to discuss!

I'm one step ahead of you there ;). You cannot enter items by made up names. Just start typing the name of a recipe in the according textfield and you get a suggestion for the correct trade name.

It should be operational now. Strange your posts don't show, please try again.

Have you considered using drop-box searches for goods? I ask because before the Aution House existed there was a site called the Clockworks Market where people could post buy/sell offers for any goods that appeared in game. The site was a relatively simple table affair with drop-boxes to narrow down the search. At that point you could sort by price and lot size.
As for searching the Bazaar forum more effectively, use Google. Open your search with site:forums.spiralknights.com/en/forum/41
to get results only from the Bazaar forum.

Spiral, it works. I should not have typed Zee Core for first time xd
And questions just to make all clear. Does offers auto-dissapear when the time set in "im waiting xx" ends?

I will expand the market to materials, once I have compiled a list of them all. Crafted items would be possible as well, but I first need to figure out a naming policy to discern crafted items from recipes.
As far as dropboxes are concerned: my market makes heavy use of them. Do they not work for you?

ROFL ... good luck with that :p
(yes, I'll definitely put materials in there, just give me some time to compile a list)

Yep, once the time expires, your offer is automatically purged from the system, no traces left behind. It's really designed to be a dead simple fire and forget web app. You post a note that you are looking for something, state how long you plan on being online and eventually get contacted by someone who has the requested recipe (or not, in which case, you are free to post again).
NOTE 1: Your offer may actually stay up a bit longer than intended for technical reasons, but it will be purged eventually.
NOTE 2: Double postings are no problem at all.
NOTE 3: If someone actually wants a timeout of more than 2 1/2 hours, contact me (the a wishlist would be a good place to drop feature requests into).

Before the Auction House was added to the game, there was a web site, http://www.clockworkmarket.com/, that used to match buyers to sellers. It closed soon after the AH was introduced.

Just as a heads up: I added all the materials (yes, including the zee core and the wishbone) for all your rage crafting needs.
I am still undecided about finished crafts, as I have no idea how to handle UVs. Another interesting question would be whether or not to add accessories (please discuss).

Jim Dale thinks backstabbing scumbag Spy should use magic Steam data to get info on a player's backpack so they can make a profile/not sell what they don't have.

Move to suggestions. Mwahhahahaa.

Shutup if you don't agree or at least give this alternative a chance
(So many times have I come up short on crowns for basil >.< )

Perhaps putting "Recipe:" in front of the item? Such as "Recipe: Wolver Coat" and "Wolver Coat"? Or clickboxes that lets you search for recipes, items, or both, depending on what you mark?

Pre- or suffixing the name with "Recipe" is not the problem. UVs are. People who want crafted items, rarely want the basic model and there are way to many combinations to reasonably make it work with that autocomplete box.
Hm, maybe I can put an optional "comment" field in the request box.
