Does lag qualify for a support request?

I live in Asia and play forever on a one-bar connection…

…meaning that when I fight Vanaduke's mask phases, my shield always registers one full second AFTER I PRESS THE FREAKING SHIELD BUTTON. Therefore, I would like to ask if I can continuously send support requests for GMs to help me play the mask phases (because I can't block anything) and let me handle the body phases without help.

But since lag isn't a game bug, I want to know if I can even ask for help from GMs about this.

Don't think so...

Do you have any idea how many support requests OOO would be getting if lag was permitted? :o

…thanks for the answer

I guess I'll just have to stick to knowing that I can never be able to defeat Vanaduke legitimately.

I doubt that you could. It

I doubt that you could. It would set a bad policy, even if unwritten. If for no other reason you'd get people going "This is too hard! I can't do it... herp derp, lets call a GM and tell them that we're lagging reallllllllly bad!" And unfortunately you know people would do that.

just look at IP address

Anyone in America or Europe (where the servers are located) shouldn't be allowed to complain, therefore you wouldn't have people making fake lag complaints.

I live in Asia for real and have bought (in chronological order):

750 CE
Battle Pack
Starter Pack
2x 30-day Elevator Pass
20k CE

So I can't even get a Blackened Crest even though I've probably invested more than the average player. Wow.

hi

I also "live in Asia and play forever on a one-bar connection", "meaning that when I fight Vanaduke's mask phases" I use good tactics to make sure his mask is consistently doused.

Said similar tactics also "let me handle the body phases with" ease.

"Therefore, I would like to ask if" people can continuously learn how to fight better instead of using lag and geographical area as an excuse to make unreasonable requests.

On a more serious note:

How to decrease lag in FSC:
- It starts to un-lag about the 30th FSC trip and vana fight.
- turn all your graphics way down low.
- make SURE that the party leader is in the same area as you (Asia/Oceania), or when you created the party to either have: Joined a PUG, or created it yourself. If you join a friend on the US server and go solo, chances are your lag will get sky-high.
- Learn to predict their moves better, and always MOVE AWAY instead of standing and shielding standing in place. (it helps to practice this as a bomber and going into a room full of retrodes)
- Don't open any other torrent based programs... or things that use up bandwidth.
- Memory leaking: yes it happens, so I'd strongly recommend you reboot your computer
- I used to have to reclient every level or so, I still do sometimes, but solves the issues mostly.

I've beaten Vana more times than I can count, vendored at least 6-7 Ancient Plate items, and have a CoA and FoV xD

Plus where's the fun in asking a moderator to do all the work for you? :P

Alternatively, if you've "invested more than the average player" you can always buy one off another player for 2.3k - 2.5k CE or thereabouts xD

P.S. "I live in Asia for real."

Dude…

Whenever I see a ghost bullet coming at me during Vanaduke's mask phases, I raise my shield but it doesn't block until after I take damage. That's all. You didn't have to make a big deal out of it.

Actually, there's a place you can stand to pwn the mask really well solo, and a place you can hide in a group (near the upper right fountain and behind the lower right fountain respectively). You could also back away from the mask at the 2 mark to get a head start on the bullets.

Since it sounds like you don't run with a guild or friends, I'd advise running with PuGs anyway instead of solo. Just make sure to pick your team right; one shiver and one blitz.
