A lot of this feedback is general rescue camp related, so I have put it under this umbrella topic.

Grammatical:

"You have escaped your crash pod... just as the sun set." should be "as the sun sets" or "You escaped your crash pod".

"Using your comlink, it is now time..." sounds awkward, should be more like "It is now time to use your comlink" or something like that.

Rescue camp:

The old elevator for the training missions in the regular game seems redundant now that it leads to the mission screen anyway.

Starting "run" or "room" after the crash:

Your character can keep "walking" up while the heat is tallied.
