Like the title says, the boss went down really easy even though we had no idea what we were doing. After getting rid of the shields we had no idea how to get through his force field, but once we did it was maybe 30 seconds of messing around with bombs and slashes. Making it have more health and giving better hints as to how to actually beat the boss would be tubular.
Mission: Toy Soldiers - Boss is too easy and confusing to beat
I agree that it shouldn't be hard (and having played Snarb with 0-2* gear only, multiple times, it is a bit challenging). But there should be some better indication, either verbal/textual or visual, of how exactly to beat him. There should be SOME strategy involved even if the boss is supposed to be easy, especially when it's set up with destroyable shields and a force field, which implies that just whaling on it will not work. I assume that most people who come to this game are already familiar with using strategy to beat bosses in other video games, so a little bit of challenge shouldn't be a big deal. And if the next true boss is Snarbolax, then I suggest that new players should start to be groomed to think differently about how to beat bosses anyway.
This boss was easy, I was confused a bit at the beginning but then I realized I had to wait for the thing to overheat. I was soloing it and it was really boring because there's no real strategy besides waiting and attacking once it reveals its weak spot while avoiding the energy ball.
I hope they change those floating shields, they look out of place.
The thing that Bugged me with this one, was that after it Fired its Missiles, they just Disappeared & Randomly Appeared In Front of me.
The floating shields do look out of place. The bubble shield, however, wasn't confusing at all. It's on a timer. Strike when it's down, defend when it's up, that is all.
What really caugh me on surprise was the "invisible" missle attack. Missles, as far as I know, keep the same distance vertical distance from the floor. But, there's a gabe between the players and the boos, and when the missles pass through there they "disapear" (making their run through the map limit under the areana) and come back, surprising players (specially palyers with higher lag that really need to know were projectiles come from to avoid them).
The rockets did what Ironskullkid said. They were buggy and disappeared, then ambushed me.
Also, remember - toy soldiers is for newer players that are not as experienced
On a side note, I liked this toy soldier mission a lot for new players. It introduces them to fire traps, which will help them for future content.
I had the same sort of issue with them vanishing and reappearing.
By the way, it's not terribly clear that you're able to strike the main body with your sword. A little walkway up to it would improve that, unless you actually mean for the boss to be dealt with at range.
It was invisible lol. sometimes i would hit it and do dmg but most of the time it did nothing. By the looks of this thread i was the only one with that problem. I still killed it though with like 2 hits of my DA.
The second boss was too difficult. Those Mecha Knights keep appearing and damaging me too much. Then I managed to damage the Battlepod quite severely, but after the health was pretty low I could not deal damage anymore. Then the irritating Mecha Knights just kept killing me. How am I supposed to kill it?
PS how many battlepods are there in total?
You brought back a 2012 thread to complain about a completely different but still easy fight, if you want to complain go to the suggestions forum
overall, there are a lot of battlepods but theyre easy to deal with if you bother to push the accompanying enemies away
This is a pre-snarby mini-boss, it shouldn't be hard at all.
One thing that did distrub me about the level was that the gears are touching cog to cog :P I assume this is two cog models placed in the level, maybe make one big model that has the proper alignment animation.
The level felt really empty and had a lot of room from one place to another. You could probably tighten up the layout a bit.
