Why we must not ever be allowed to reach the core

The spiral knights are searching for the core in order to find a way out and return to their homeland. So if you reach the core and find what they need..well then that is it. They will reach their home planet and everybody will live happily ever after and no one would ever need to return to the clockworks
^^This is reason why i don't think you should ever be able to complete the game, after all it is a MMO

Yeah, even if we reach core and part of knights will return to haven Knights may decide to make Cradle their colony, some sort of training champ or decide to leave tech teams and of course bodyguards (aka us, Spiral Knights warriors) to protect them in further studies of Cradle and to continue exploring.

with the new mission system being released, i can imagine the core having something to do with the very last mission! (:

The game doesn't need to end when we reach the core. We could finally leave and get back "home" where a new problem is. New enemies to face, new bosses.. isn't a MMO suppose to be more than just 3-4 bosses with the same enemies repeated.. after awhile the game just looks like a giant fashion show for some of us. :/
tl:dr
Short version, we need more clockworks content. More levels, more bosses, more story, new enemies.

Really, even if we do reach the Core, doesn't that open up for all sorts of possibilities alongside it?
Okay, so suppose we manage to fuel the Skylark, that could become a new hub on its own. We've never really seen the Skylark, but considering how we were pretty much travelling with it, it's got to be a huge thing to explore! Maybe a few mini-games could open up within.
Next, since the Skylark is up and running, we can explore outside of Cradle! There could be several planets around that have a relation to Cradle and its inhabitants. For example, a Gremlin home-planet? What if there's an even greater thing behind King Tinkinzar of the Gremlins? Is there corruption on their planet and we make it our duty to clean up the mess and bring it back to order?
Maybe a new threat stirs as we open up the Core and we have to set out and stop it before something bad happens?
New monsters could spawn as a bi-effect of opening the Core, threatening everything on Cradle and we get new bosses and rewards opened up as a result, as well as new missions that deal with these?
Maybe the planet itself is in danger of falling apart or some other nonsense?
There are so many possibilites that open up alongside the opening of the Core, so stop worrying too much about it. So many things could happen before and after, but for now try to focus on what's coming in the near future.
"no one would ever need to return to the clockworks" lmao as if that wasnt already the case
i only go to the clockworks to fetch crowns for lockdown

For the "no one would ever need to return to the clockworks" part, I gotta say that with the way missions are set up right now, it's going to happen sooner or later. You can get at least T3 access with no need to go anywhere, especially if you purchase CE. Granted, the prices of things are certain yet, but it could happen.
As for reaching the core...we're already reached it. D29 is the core, so you can head down there any time you want.

What if the core takes us somewhere else. A new place like the planet we are on now. Maybe even Earth? I think that the Spiral Knight guys might be doing something now. Its about time they add more to the gameplay, such as more bosses, levels and pets. There have been hundreds of suggestions on the forum about things for Spiral Knights. Is there any way someone can contact them directly?

What if we are wrong? What if the Core does not provide what we need for the Skylark? What if we are currently unable to harvest the energy of the Core and more research (and visits to the Core) are necessary? What if the Core is really just a big booby trap? What if we are successful in harvesting the energy of the Core, but it turns out there are other necessities needed for the Skylark's resurrection? What if the harvesting of the Core's energy results in the collapsing of Cradle and the Knights need to fix it in order to get the time needed to fix the Skylark?

Alpha Squad. What about those guys. They got into the core. How the hell did they manage that, no one will know. But some people say we need to deposit as many minerals as possible. That was apparently the key to opening the core. Any Spiral Knight who thinks the core is the key to getting off this hole is probably a fool. I don't see why we can't fly off this planet to somewhere else!!!!

"I don't see why we can't fly off this planet to somewhere else!!!!"
Hey, genius. The Skylark, the mother ship we travelled in, has crashed and isn't functioning. We're stranded, and the Core is our assumed salvation to restore it.

maybe the core is the T4? because even if we reach it, there is still the swarm and king tinkinzar (and the crimson guard) to deal with.

This game is about exploring Cradle - artificial "planet" made of scraps of worlds combined into ever-shifting Clockworks. Something similar to the "Cube".
Exploring world outside of Cradle would be totally different game.
New bosses and levels would be great though.

i got an idea that they can find the core and keep playing spiralknights.
When spiral knights gets to a playerbase of over 13k online at the same time. They find the core and they wud be able to travel to other planets and at that time we just have another story on other planets. we wud need to do that cus haven wont be able to support that much ppl at the same time

If we never get access to the Core, I will quit. Without the Core, the game is incomplete.

The game could end up being something like the Sims. We reach the core, get back home and then we have to build our house, feed our knights, get a job, get a girl and some kids, build a pool, get em inside, remove the ladder... well, you know. I think this is a fantastic idea.
Just because we reach the core doesn't mean the story has to end. :)
There's a whole universe out there for the Spiral Knights to explore... as they were before landing on Cradle!
