The Battle for Haven! Chapters 1-14 out! [Role-casting now closed] one chapter left!

Here is my new fanfic, the Fight for Haven! The peaceful Haven has been taken over by strange beings called "Humans" and the Spiral Knights must retreat into the deoths of the Clockworks! They are outnumbered and outmatched, so now they must get the help of their own nemisis, the monsters of the Clockworks! Only with their help will Haven be reclaimed! Ill be taking a break from my other fanfic, but this one will use forum suggested characters and my old characters from the other fanfic! Btw this is from the view of a character that i will be using in my other fanfic! His name is Hades and hes part of the elite Strike team lead by the Knight Tsuna. Oh btw I used the name of a being from another fanfic made by Dragaroth, and I am crediting him. Well, ENJOY!
Chapter 1: Retreat
Just as I returned from the Clockworks, I had to duck to avoid a sword being swung at my head. I had been on an expedition into the clockworks with my friends, and once we took the lift up, the sight in Haven was terrifying. Dead Knights were on the floor of the Arcade, and the last of them, perhaps a few hundred, were fighting these strange creatures. The remaining Knights were all equipped with salvaged weapons from other Knights, but the enemies were far stronger. They were all about 6 feet tall, just as tall as most of the Strangers. They had flowing black and brown hair, and their eyes were glazed over. They were armed with huge guns that I'd never seen before. Their swords hummed with a strange energy, and their guns fired rapid blasts of energy pellets that plowed down Knights in seconds. I was baffled by the sight. These Knights were rookies, new recruits to the Order, and they were being crushed!
Suddenly,the gate next to me hummed, and another elevator rose, containing some young Almirian knights. They were even more scared than we were. Their leader, a Knight named Ares, quickly regained his composure and rushed into the battle, his Vog set gleaming with blue fire. Our group recovered a few seconds after, and we rushed into battle. I charged at a group of these strange monsters and sliced through them with my deadly Acheron. I ran up to another, pulled out my Sentenza, and shot him right in between the eyes. But even with the aid of the new Knights and the strike team, the rookies of the Order were being overwhelmed. I silently cursed myself. At this time of day, all the knights who were at least decent in strength were in the Clockworks. They weren't as strong as the strike team, but they could have hopefully turned the tides.
The leader of our group, Tsuna was racing at the new enemies, his golden wings shimmering with light. He was rapidly shredding them into pieces with his Wild Hunting blade. The brains of our team, Blue was parrying away enemy strikes with her Leviathan Blade. Ace, the fast one was running and cutting through the enemies so fast, they even walked a few feet before splitting into tiny pieces. Still, the young recruits were being decimated, and Tsuna automatically knew what to do. He was my brother, and we understood each other perfectly. He yelled out "KNIGHTS, RETREAT, GET TO THE CLOCKWORKS!" the rookies knew exactly what he was planning, and rushed to the gates, quickly delving into the Clockworks. The strike team held off the monsters until everyone was gone, then we sprinted towards the nearest gate and went into the Clockworks. We saw the monsters trying to operate the gates, but they weren't Knights like us. I sighed. They probably wouldn't get us down here... But who knew...

"Darn", I thought. Those.. Things were terrifying... They weren't anything like I'd ever seen... How did those things get here...? *sigh* I shouldn't worry about it... Tsuna has gotten us all safely out of many tight spots before... But HOW could those creatures have found Cradle...? *sigh* We ventured deeper into the Clockworks, trying to eventually get to Emberlight, the Gremlin refugee town... Normally I wouldn't even want to be there just because of those sinister looking Gremlins... They were all refugees... I laughed. We were no better now... We Spiral Knights have lost our original home AND our new one... It was shameful. Refugees... That was all we were now. I stared upwards at the distant light of Haven, and I knew all those dead Knights would never be buried... They would rot in the gloomy shadows of the Arcade. I was seething with anger. My fiery eyes gazed fiercely at the light, and I knew those would Knights would be avenged... Avenged by the new Spiral Order...

Chapter 2: United we stand, divided we fall!
The squad walked in silence, not a single Knight daring to say a word. Blue's pet wolver walked by her side, shivering and whimpering. Tsuna led the squad through the Clockworks, but he noticed something odd. There were no monsters around to guard the passageway into the depths below... But he ignored it and pressed on. Ace's com link ringed, and he picked up a faint static signal. A voice said "Hello? Lieutenant Ace? General Tsuna? Anyone! Please answer... Hello?" Tsuna responded with a "Yeah? Who is this? State your name and rank, Knight."
The voice replied "Spiral Quartermaster Kozma Braver here. Im in a real bad situation here, sir. Were stuck in depth 0 here... Please sir... Help! Brinks! Get out of there, Feron! Brinks! NO! BRINKS! NO- AAAAHH!" Then... Static. Nothing but static. Ace overheard the sound from the unit and started to tear up. "Ma... No... Pa... No... NO!" He started sobbing, and even the steely hearted Striker was teary eyed. Tsuna knew why Ace and Striker were so sad... Kozma and Brinks were Ace's parents, his only family... Now he was an orphan... And Feron used to be Striker's best friend... But Ace was so sad... He sobbed and fell to his knees, crying. A few minutes later, Tsuna mustered up his courage and said "Ace... Stop crying. Please. We're all sad about this... But..." he started to choke up, but he overcame it and continued " this is the pain that our fellow knights, the strangers, even the innocent Snipes have experienced... This is the terror of these new enemies... But we will rise up... I'd hate to say this... But... Only with the help of the monsters and Gremlins will we be able to defeat the new evil in Haven... We will be victorious. We will win. WE. WILL. SURVIVE!

Not sure how I would rate
Not sure how I would rate this, but I think the human aspect just throws me off terribly. There's already many more malicious things that the setting holds without having to resort to humans (which for some reason seems to be grouped as an ultimate evil or antagonist). Are these earth humans? Or just a race resembling humans? Why would they exist in this setting?

Humans being the main source
Humans being the main source of evil is a tired trope, and corruption is generally linked more to power, which corrupts otherwise empathetic, good beings. Avatar didn't really do it right, but the people who have the power, privilege, and abilities usually are the ones who exhibit the signs of corruption, and it's not something that's just an inherent evil in our race.
But I also think it seems to random to toss them into the setting where they otherwise don't belong. I can understand applying a bit of your own twist when making a fan-fiction but you should also try and work with what you got and make it shine that way. And to be frank, Spiral Knights don't have humans. They may be another kind of human for all we know, but it's clear for the moment that the setting doesn't have them and there should be a greater justification for just throwing them in there.

Hmm ok ill take those into consideration but i will explain how humans got into this setting later in the story. And yes i know the ones in power usuallly are the corrupt ones, but ull see that there are good humans in this story. In fact, the ones invading Haven are mostly just those poor people trying to work for a living.

Sry guys i wont be able to work on this fanfic too much. Ive been busy but ill try to finish this in my free time. I still need some characters and artists to make the teasers for the fanfic. Chapter 3: The Varalax
Well finally I have managed to create chapter 3! I have made more spaces in between senteces for the sake of the readers. Well,Here ya go, and enjoy!
Chapter 3: The Lair of the Snarbolax
"Uh oh, we are SO dead!" the young knight said. Another Knight in the party named Vot said "DUDE, dont jinx us! We have to get to Emberlight, or those things in Haven are gonna get us!"
"Yeah? Well then how come they don't even know how to work the lifts! We might as well stay here!"
The leader of the group yelled " Shut up, you guys! Didn't you notice that we just got into the Gloaming Wildwoods? That Snarbolax will have us for his lunch if you dont shut your yap!"
"Its nighttime, and I want dinner" Vot remarked dryly. Erin tossed an ice cream cone at Vot. "Now will you shut up?" he said. Vot nodded.
Vot shoved the ice cream into his mouth. He wore a Solid cobalt set and had a mighty defender strapped to his wrist. His Ascended Calibur gleamed with white light. The leader of the group, Erin wore an Ash Tail set and put his Twisted Targe on like a backpack. He wielded a Swift Flourish. The youngest and also the weakest knight, named Kaito had normal magic hood and cloak on, along with an owlite shield and a Cutter.
The three Knights walked through the woods in silence. They heard whimpering, and Kaito strolled into the bushes, only to find a young and terrified Wolver pup. He raised his Cutter, ready to strike, when suddenly there was a deafening roar. "GROOOOAAAAH!" Kaito tripped and dropped his Cutter. Even Erin winced at the noise. Vot's ice cream cone fell out of his mouth, splatting on his armor. the Wolver pup scrambled away into the darkness.
"Was that... Was that the Snarbolax?" Kaito asked. Erin slowly nodded and began to cautiously stalk through the grass. There was a rumble, and the horribly loud roar came again. "GROOOOAAAH!" Kaito gulped, his eyes filled with terror, while Vot hurriedly brushed the ice cream off his cloak and took out his Ascended Calibur. Erin immediately readied his Swift Flourish, his eyes scanning the area like a hawk. He sighed. "Probably nothing. Oh well, let's get a move on guys. If all goes well, we should arrive at the rendezvous spot in about ten minutes."
"And if it doesn't go well? What happens then?" Kaito asked. Erin stared into the distance and said, "If it does not go according to plan... Just don't think about it. Lets go guys." The party finally found the lift and descended deeper into the Clockworks. Erin dashed into the clearing and stepped on the party button. "Get on, guys."
Vot walked over to the button and took out his Ascended Calibur. Kaito whimpered and slowly approached the button. He put his boot on it, and then... Nothing. Nothing but silence. Then 6 red eyes glared out from the bushes, and the Snarbolax itself jumped out, its black and red fur glistening with blood. Its eyes burned with fury, and its claws were sharper than even shadow steel. It reared up and growled. But then, the unusual, ear splitting roar came again, and the Snarbolax fled into the bushes. A huge dragon swooped down from above. It had fiery claws and scorching ripped wings. Every time it let out a breath, smoke and flames came out. It had bloodred eyes and a huge blazing tail. It roared again, and the Knights fled. Kaito screamed " WHAT ON CRADLE WAS THAT THING?!"
Erin yelled back, "ITS THE VARALAX! Dont let it touch you, or you'll be burned!" Vot held his ice cream like a sword, but the monster ignored him and stomped right by. The Knights fled to the lift and rapidly slammed the buttons. Just before the Varalx got them, the lift went down, deeper into the Clockworks. Vot sighed. "Were safe! Whew!" He saw Erin staring at the depth above them, and Kaito was whimpering like a baby. If he hadn't seen the Varalax himself, he would have laughed at Kaito. But that thing was horrifying. Vot began to question himself. Ever since those things invaded Haven, the Clockworks had become even more dangerous. He asked himself, are we really safe? Will we survive? But he set those thoughts aside just as the lift stopped. They had arrived at Moorcraft Manor. The group quickly sat down on some sofas and took a nap.
Next day.....
Vot woke up, along with Kaito and Erin. Erin stared at the two. He knew why they were scared. They had a right to be after what happened last night. He said "Come on. We still got depths 8-17 to go through." Vot sighed, and the group boarded the lift, unaware of the even more dangerous enemies to come...

Tsuna: Wild hunting blade in one hand,, Argent Peacemaker in the other, Skolver Coat, Grey owlite shield strapped on back like a backpack,and Valkyrie helm. Helm has blue wings instead of white. Orange eyes and white wings on back.
Ace: Final Flourish, Antigua, Vog set. Dragon scale shield. Sky Blue eyes.
Striker: Divine Avenger, Leviathan, Aegis, and a Snarby set. Green eyes. Chapeua of the Black Rose
And have Haven burning in the background, then do whatever else u want.

Fun to be around, joker of the group, but serious when it comes to battle. Master of stealth!

Snarbolax Coat with the Chaos Cowl as costume but Snarbolax Cap as real armour.

Weapons: Achereon, Divine Avenger, Glacius, which he fondly names IceKlaw, and Dread Venom Striker
Bio/history: Brought up by elite Knight parents who wants him to follow in his footsteps. His parents died in a tragic accident with Darkfire Vanaduke and has an ever burning hatred for him.
Relations: Able to make friends fast considering he is pretty accepting and he is fun to be around.
Expendability: I would rather him not die, I would like for him to die a heroic death, if any death at all, but if you want to you can if you want it's your fanfic.

Armor: He's a Gremlin. No armor other than those robes they wear.

Knight versus Gremlin!
Chapter 4: Ice vs Necro
Ace yawned. Its so boring around here, he thought. He wished that he could be in Haven, playing pranks on the Strangers with his friend Vot. He washed his Final Flourish until it was squeaky clean, and polished his Vog armor.
He sighed and sat down. Might as well take a nap, he thought. But just before he drifted off, there was a huge crashing noise. Ace quickly got to his feet and rushed to see where the source of the ruckus was.
He stared down from the recon tower and saw a Knight and a young Gremlin engaged in battle. The Knight seemed to be about Ace's age. He carried a Divine Avenger and Dread Venom Striker in his hands. On his hips hung a Glacius and an Acheron. He had a Chaos cowl and a Snarbolax set on. The eyes on his armor gleamed with rage.
The young Gremlin had standard Gremlin armor on and wielded a Shockburst Brandish in his hand. He had a Static Capacitator in the other hand and was throwing tons of them at the Knight. He hurled his last bomb at his opponent, but the Knight deflected it with his Divine Avenger. The Knight sneered at the Gremlin and said "You mad?"
The crimson colored Gremlin lunged at the Knight with his Shockburst Brandish. He swung the dangerous weapon like a demon, but the knight simply caught the sword with his right hand and kicked the Gremlin. Ace sighed. Great, just another brawl between the Gremlins and Knights. That was REALLY what they needed right now.
Right when the Knight and Gremlin were about to tear into each other, a blinding light appeared and seperated the two. When the loght died, Tsuna was standing in between the two fighters, his golden wings shimmering. He yelled "What the heck do you two think you're doing?!?! STOP FOGHTING, YOU FOOLS!!!"
The Knight and Gremlin both simultaneously screamed back "WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE, TELLING ME WHAT TO DO?!?!" as quick as light itself, Tsuna drew his Wild Hunting Blade and Argent Peacemaker, then pointed each of them at the two battlers. "You were saying?" Suddenly, Tsuna leapt back as the ground split at the feet of the Knight and Gremlin! A terrifying roar came from the pit, and a huge monster grabbed the two rivals and pulled them into the pit. Before Tsuna could save them, the pit closed, and the two brawlers were gone...
Meanwhile, at the human camp...
Mark was watching a movie with his friends in the tent. His eyes twitched at the sight of the film. "I hate Twilight" he said. His best friend Dan laughed.
"Come on, bro dont spoil the mood." he said,
Mark sighed in exasperation. "I hate this. I mean really, this movie is SO 21st century! What is with girls and vampires?!" Dan laughed and said "Hey, its Valentines day, so I thought I'd treat the girls of the army to a movie, and this is what they wanted! 'Course, I left a little gift for the other guys. An all expense paid free night at the local bar? You want that, Mark?"
Mark began to drool at the thought of beer and whiskey. He nodded. "Then stay for a while and watch" Dan said. Mark snapped out of his trance and replied, "Oh, now you are just playing dirty, Daniel Hunter. You know I cant resist any type of drink, even Cool-Aid."
Dan grinned. "Come on, it'll be fine. Dont worry, you can get a drink later." Mark smiled back and said "Ok, but you owe me a Cool-Aid, Dan!" Dan laughed a warm, kind laugh. armor: has a shadowy robe (colour of snarby coat) a light robe (colour of skolver coat) and a firey robe (colour of vog coat with volcanic bits) this ways he's always prepared when he goes to different areas.(all of these have the same bonuses as the armor they represent)
shield: most spiral knights shields are to heavy so he uses a swiftstrike shield
weapons: Wild Hunting blade,Acheron,Divine Avenger,Nitrome,Final flourish,Argent peace maker,polaris,shivermist buster,Blitz needle.(yes i kow this is alot though he keeps most at home and changes them depending on the situation he's in. He always has his Wild hunting blade with him though.)
Bio: after becoming an orphan he ran away from the foster home where he met some gremlins who were soldiers who taught him some skills.(the fast moving dodge which he uses as a maneuver to move past the opponent quickly and having a quick slash with his WHB before they react) they sent him through many corses so that when he became old enough he would be a great soldier.He founded the research team on certain subjects(using knights weapons and how they use them) where he earn his white robe.He created the tactic of using there superior speed to get past them before they realize and have a slash at them,then proved it could be useful be taking out three knights with out getting hit,Because of his ideas the made him a general during the slime war( gremlins vs. Jellys) where his units were known as the "The Elites" which would have a red kerchief tied around there left arm,Because of his success in this they gave him the red robe.By this time he was eligible to train with the soldiers where in all the sparring he was able to put everyone the defense then beat them.He was the youngest to graduate the training and has earned a black robe for great effort and being able to teach things to everyone. He earned lots of money fast and bought himself big mansion with sparring rooms, pools, trampolines,gaming consoles, study,armory,target rooms,everything you could want and more, theres almost nothing he doesn't have that is fun or useful.HE currently lives the good fun life at home.

Since she doesn't have any family around her, she thinks of her friends as family and doesn't want them to die.
She made a vow that she will protect what she love and care til the very end even if that costs her life.
Aria is always practicing and making new ways to fight in different situations whether it's protecting someone or fighting new enemies, as she wants to be strong.
