I don't think toothpicking requires no skill. I just think that most players choose the obviously overpowered and obviously hands-down best Lockdown set, and then tout it off as skill, even if they have very little of it. THOSE are the clones, and don't tell me you don't see them around.
Just don't listen to anyone that tells you that you have 'no skill'

First sentence - I don't think toothpicking requires no skill. --> Toothpicking requires skill.
Second sentence - They have very little of it. (it being skill, required to use the toothpick which they are using)
Conclusion: You think toothpicking requires very little skill.
As someone who uses skolver + toothpick half the time, are you telling me I have very little skill?

Sypsy dont be difficult, we know all classes take skills; however, it is kinda hard to do 1vs1 as there is always other ppl around in LD.
I'll admit that I'm a Dusker "clone" in t2 LD, but I have a lot of respect for good bombers. If you go against a noob shards spammer, then ya easy enough to poke him/her full of holes. I've met some good bombers in my "short" time, and damn they can get annoying :P

What we're saying is that we're not just SPAMMING. Spamming takes no skill, that's right. But I actually have a strategy. More often than not I'm the last one left on my team in a big group fight against 3-4 other people. I have taken out groups of people with my bombs. I'm not just spamming radiant sun shard I actually place it in a way to either predict where you're going to go, or I lead you into the bomb itself. I don't keep track of who I can/have killed usually unless I'm using a troll bomb like my big angry bomb. I play purely for fun.
What you're saying we do as bombers is probably people who don't normally bomb and just want to bring it into lockdown and they don't really have any idea what they're doing, it's not legitimate bombers who bomb outside of lockdown. Those who practice it regularly aren't just spamming.
It's hard to go up against strikers with autoaim who just rush and swing into rooms without even paying attention. With my latency I don't have a chance against ones that do that. Which is why I have to be really careful and if you've see me bomb I don't just move back and forth and run in circles in a constant pattern. I change it up. I try to be random and unpredictable as much as possible so if anyone tries to rush me I'm gonna make you work for it.
Am I the best lockdown player, no. I do consider myself competent when it comes to lockdown. I consider myself maybe one of the better bombers now that I've gotten the hang of it. I'm NEVER going to have the best scores. My scores are usually completely based on the team that I'm in. If they utilize my bombing I will have awesome damage scores and overall successful. If they don't utilize me I will struggle more. I can take up to 3 people usually and hold them for a while, at least I would be distracting them long enough so my team can either join me or take points while I keep them busy until I die, or I kill them. If you use the bomber, and the bomber is good, It's a HUGE asset to your team.
Don't say bombing takes no skill, because I can say the same for anyone that has spent tons of crowns and CE on UV's that can just run through my bombs and come straight for me and corner and kill me while they have auto aim on. That isn't skill, that's gear. I don't spend a lot on lockdown gear, actually I JUST recently go what I call lockdown gear which is my mercurial demo set.
I haven't seen you rage about bombers in lockdown. I've seen you rage about other things and be outright hateful to people, in and out of lockdown.

You misinterpret what I mean. What I mean is that it's much easier to do "decent" with the overpowered standard loadout, than it is with anything else, that's why you see so many of them, but it's still easy to distinguish the clones from the actually good players, the ones that DO have skill.
@Flufflyfoxie: The point that I was agreeing with -- but I do really admire those who can pull off >20k damage with it without auto aim (with or without the so-dubbed "clone" loadout (whose contents I mentioned earlier)).
Also, I know bombers who have gotten >12k :D
I could be cheap and kill any bomber with a gun by shooting and running away...but I'm not that cheap :p. @Jen if bombing does require skill it requires very little skill, and I don't use Autoaim or have any UV's (Not even trinkets). @Fluffy, standing in the middle of a shock bomb field takes NO skill, toothpicking with autoaim takes NO skill, toothpicking without autoaim take's SKILL. I can see where RSS take's skill, but standing in the middle of a bomb field take's none, (in my opinion..) (FYI bombers I'm making a Sentenza just for you <3) @Jen, yes I admit I do hate on people (Won't mention any names) but can you honestly tell me you never have?... alot of my friends on Steam/SK used to be Arch enemies now I'd consider Virtual family. Roarr, Xeroz, Blueflood are beasts at bombing no denying that, but so are some Strikers with max ASI and autoaim..wouldn't call that skill. and I dare Neo to have a better comebacks in the future. (And when I say "Autoaim?" it's a question not accusation but u totes use it). I'll give it to bombers RRS takes skill, but standing in the middle of a bomb field doesn't. And I agree autoaim spamming flourish/barb takes no skill. Not that anyone cares but Qberrymuffin (Yes, I made a nickname for myself because urs were all to lousy,) 's highest score was 24k damage, 6 caps, 1 defend with no trinkets/UV's/Autoaim. Roarr, comeback to me when you can get 12k via bombs without trinkets.
u know what i dis people for polaris spam its just that they cant come out and fight me. Thats all. they stay back and shoot for like 2 minutes while i keep dodgeing and its funny. they get lucky and get a shot in and i get shocked and THEY STILL CANT KILL ME XD XD XD XD, also im finally getting noticed XD
Also Rss Does take skilll and when u put up mist shields it does take skill because u can get shot to death ez peasy. by a polaris. But u cant go to the edges or else a toothpick will get u. so all bombing requires skill because if a bomb is not down ur skrewed. also unlike gunning polaris or toothpicks bombing cant have autoaim XD
also im not the damage hog bomber. i get like 7k which is good enough for me most of the time. and i help my team i dont hog damage. When im in LD they scream NOOOOOOO when im on the opposite team and when im with them they are like YESSSSSS. also some people judge who is going to win by the bombers they have XD which is true alot of the times

Mist bombs do take skill. They are also not reliable bombs, in the sense that anyone can have UV's or gear that makes them immune to the bomb. I NEVER purely rely on the bomb alone. I keep moving. I keep dodging. I sometimes even try to get as close to the player as I can to place the actual bomb blast close to them. I have killed people with my stun bomb by doing this, on multiple occasions. I will run through other mist bombs that I'm not immune to just to place a bomb in hopes that they aren't immune to my bomb. The other day it was like me against three people in the center of frostbite map. One had stun and shock, the other had freeze. We went into an all out bomb war. I'm immune to shock because of my merc demo so I could run right through it. But I could get frozen. I would run as far as I could in the freeze bomb and plant my RSS over and over. They still wouldn't come near me to kill me. I ended up taking three of them out with my bombs and finally got killed by someone rushing in with a sword when I was already low on health. But, it was fun. Everyone was a good sport about it. We laughed and I hope i can play with them again.
I'm gotten considerably better at bombing in lockdown, and now that I have my merc demo set, it REALLY helps. I like the movement speed increase. I can dodge strikers better now.
I just don't like the attitude of... " I'm not using UV's or autoaim I'm a true lockdown player with super skills". I don't care if you were playing blindfolded and still taking people out in lockdown. I don't want to be around that elitist attitude, the attitude that you have blueberry... the one that you make fun of many others for having. But they don't have it nearly as bad as you do. You think you have some right to treat people badly. You think you are so good and so awesome of a person and a player that they DESERVE to be treated badly. You call people noobs and treat them horribly, and genuinely think that you can treat them that way. You know what I'm talking about. Go ahead and deny it, I have the entire conversation we had saved. You are no better than the people you make fun of and I will stand by that. I have indeed faced you in lockdown, and we have killed eachother on equal share. But what makes me laugh? Whenever I kill you, you complain like a 5-year-old. Let's put up an example of when I faced you in a reactor match, which I can only remember too well. We both sprint into the middle, no-one else is there but the pair of us. I smack you twice with my divine avenger, and you die via the shock trap. You complain about it being 5 on 1. It was a 4 vs 4 match. And it does seem that you are trying to dampen the mood about everyone else just to make yourself feel better. You say bombing is meant for support? I half-heartedly agree with you. But whatever bomber, can take whatever role they wish. They can move forward, hold a base, and place bombs in a well-thought-out position, and pin the other team back to their base. Or they can hold one of their closest bases while using the same strategic method. It really doesn't matter, as both roles can prove to be extremely effective. Another thing, whenever someone kills you, and it is a team effort, they don't brag about killing you. They carry on with what they were doing. However, the only person I have ever seen bragging and killing someone, in lockdown, is you. Why is that? All you do is complain whenever someone kills you. Have an answer to that, perhaps? And as for all the gunners who say I rage when they kill me same thing with the bombers, it wasn't a 1 on 1 That is childish. Not only do you admit that you rage, it is childish in itself. Raging whenever someone kills you, has no purpose. It only makes others hate you because of your inappropriate behaviour. So what if it wasn't a 1 vs 1? No one particularly cares except yourself. So, I would like to ask you to stop presenting your over-biased opinions as fact and as Fluffyfoxxie rightfully said, spread the love :)
heh...nothing for me will ever beat the day I froze 4 out of 6 people for a few minutes in the early days of lockdown. That was just the best ever :D They had to be saved by a skolver...heh we need higher intensity bombs. People can only be immune to minor...if the cold snap was upgradeable that would be interesting...lala...I'll just slide on outta here...

Haha yeah Rageberrymuffin is a troll. Let me know if any of you would like to see the scores in GvG against the guilds he joined and the paragraphs he wrote complaining in them while nobody else is talking.
Just came by to say that if you're surviving, contributing to the team through damage/kills, captures & defends, then you're playing LD with this elusive "skill that everyone claims to have but no one else can match."
It strikes me as odd that Fluffyfoxxie issues a challenge to try bombing out, but then calls these same people "clones," which is a term that implies that a skolver/toothpick striker player has no skills and is only successful because of the gear they use.
I also noticed that Juances, Mastersleety and others then proceed to dis polaris spam, another implication that pointing and clicking is a skill-less vocation.
Really, how do you expect people to recognize the skill required to bomb well when you are implying their current strategies are skill-less?
I've seen some very awful toothpicking and polaris spammers who die quickly, and some who do well. I've seen bombers who can deal with that stuff, and others that can't. I don't get this perpetuating cycle of "I have skill and whatever you do requires none."
Maybe if you're being called a skill-less bomber, you can take that as a compliment; it means you are being noticed for your skill. The rage and hate is because they didn't notice your bomb or something.

Also, just a question. How many of you RSS 1v1? I hardly find it a threat. I find RSS more threatening when I'm distracted by another opponent. If my full attention is on the bomber, it's just a long drawn out bomb vs gun battle.
