Ping - Game play
For 2 days now I'm having issues with my Ping. It's not a complete disaster, but it is somewhat at an annoying level for most MMORPG's. For SK though it already seems to completely destroy my ability to play the game. Nearing monsters ends up in me seeing flashes of what is actually going on and eventually me being dead all out of the sudden.
Why is Spiral Knights so easily affected by Ping?
Update: A list of things that bother me with Ping issues
- Switching between weapons is delayed or reverses + re-reverses randomly a few seconds after the switch
- Monsters running through walls or across impossible spaces
- The fox-like creatures intend to jump all over to another place while they seemed to be charging an attack instead (or is this perhaps a feature of them?)
- Spike floors damaging you after you already fully passed over them (but due to lag the game thought you didn't)
These are the ones I most frequently have to deal with while my ping isn't really that very high. It's quite bothersome at some times.

I'm not sure if it has to do with scripts, or loading the assets, but if it's the latter, loading those things up during the loading phase would probably speed things up during gameplay, when it counts.
Most MMORPGs are less sensitive to latency because they're less action-based. Spiral Knights is more like a first person shooter in terms of the way we perform networking. That said, there are some networking issues that we are continuing to work on, and your experience may improve with future updates.
