My bad, I misread that. Thought he meant "at the jelly palace now" as in already descended to 17... You can invite people still in 16, just not 17, that is correct.

I'm going to add you just because ^^
Once you are in the Jelly Palace you are stuck with your party, can't invite people into it. Any depth prior though, you can invite people into your party.
