Hi, I'm new to the all-wiki-things, but I wanted to contribute.
I read few sword guides and saw a DPS for swords based on full combo, but I wanted to try a different DPS method. I know that SK is more about strategies so DPS could be irrelevant but I thought it still might be useful in understanding how to use your sword better.
Acknowledgement:
This is my first try so, a better method can be applied later.
Method:
I chose a 5* sword and swing it as many time as possible in a 20 seconds period. I never went for a combo, but only use the first hit. If timed correctly you can avoid combo. Another method could be using shield cancelling, but haven't tried that at this time. I didn't have ASI on my swords or armour, but I shown a couple of swords with Very High modifier to show the difference. I will update the others at another time.
No modifiers:
Divine Avenger: 17 swings
Fang of Vog: 19 swings
Warmaster Rocket Hammer: 19 swings
Barbarous Thorn Blade: 21 swings
Voltedge: 25 swings
Dread Venom Striker: 28 swings
Very High ASI (Vog Cub Set)
Divine Avenger: 19 swings
Fang of Vog: 21 swings
Warmaster Rocket Hammer: -
Barbarous Thorn Blade: -
Voltedge: -
Dread Venom Striker: -
DPS (no modifiers, neutral attack) [DMG * swings / 20 seconds]
Divine Avenger: 198-204 (201)
Fang of Vog: 164-173 (168)
Warmaster Rocket Hammer: 228-245 (236)
Barbarous Thorn Blade: 202-213 (207)
Voltedge: 247-253 (250)
Dread Venom Striker: 230-237 (233)
Great! Full-combo data (such as the Lancer Knightz data) certainly tells only part of the story.
I have one unpleasant request. Your data would be much more reliable if, in each case, you repeated the test until you settled on a consistent swing count. If you examine the wiki markup for the Lancer Knightz data, you can see their repeated test data, and thus understand how well-constrained their final numbers are. I think that Lancer Knightz chose to do full combos because it seemed easier to get reproducible results. I mean, completing combos requires no skill, whereas the kind of test you're doing requires an intimate knowledge of the sword being tested. So it's especially important that you run repeated tests.
I don't know whether test data like this are supposed to be part of the "official" wiki, or if they are better constrained to "personal" space (e.g. a user page or a guild page). The more objective, reproducible, and reliable the data are, the more likely it is that they should be made "official". For example, the damage table for each weapon is "official", because it is completely objective and reproducible.
So, thanks for the data, and I look forward to more of it. :)
