Since yesterday, the new patch with the new Knight Creation screen, pets and Lock UVs came out. Everyone rages about following:
-"Old" Knights need to buy the Eyes and Height-Mods and they want to "recreate" them
-Pets are ***** expensive (soz for swear)
-New Knights get also 2 Accessiores
-Locking UVs drops the value of them
And what now? Quit SK? Haha no. Let me conterargument those points:
-You should have enough crowns to actually get the Height and Eye-Mods.
-I agree, they are expensive. But a couple of Vana runs should do it, right?
-Most Accessiores are cheap
-The change of getting the wanted 2nd/3rd UV while wasting 75k/225k Crowns IS LOW.
And what about the patch that introduced Missions? Free items and Recipes AND THERE WAS RAGE TOO. Now everything is fine.
So why the rage?
TL;DR: Read it.
But a couple of Vana runs should do it, right?
If you can earn 175k cr from a couple of Vana runs you have to let us in on the secret. =0 Not that it matters that much in terms of purely cosmetic stuff.
The rage seems to come from two sides.
Side 1 is frustrated because new players are handed stuff for free that veteran players have to pay for. They see it as a kick in the teeth to players who have supported the game for so long and pandering purely to a new playerbase. Even though the accessories are pretty cheap now. I wouldn't argue against one free height and one free eye change though (out of the same selection as offered to new players), because even for endgame players 50k cr isn't exactly pocket change and it would be a nice gesture.
Side 2 is frustrated because they treat the SK economy as an important element of the game and are thus angry when an update potentially makes things cheaper. Numerous recipes becoming free in missions is one example, In this case, people who spent loads of crowns in UV rolling now hate that others can lock in UVs for "safer" UV rolling. Even though changes to the market has been very common throughout the game. Most things in the game has always been a case of we're buying it now because we want it now and should assume that eventually a change will make it cheaper later on.
I suppose I'm also swayed by the fact that I really don't care about these things. I have a few accessories and none of them are available via the player creation interface and I do not care about UV rolling, eyes or height mods.
