I'm fairly new to Spiral Knights, but I understand that, recently, this game has gone through an update. With this update, I would highly recomend one thing to be fixed (The log-in thing is already a heavily noted issue by certain players, so I will skip through that). That one thing is the new "universal" tradechat system.
Lemme just get started with this. Before the update, it was understood that the tradechat was set on its own individual server. Here's my personal "Pros and Cons" List of this system.
Pros:
-It's easy to see offers that the community makes.
-It's convenient for the person making the deal (As you and your Offerer are on the same Haven)
Cons:
-You must "Channel-Hop"(My personal term of periodically switching from server to server) in order to see other potential offers.
Now, after the update, as mentioned, it's been changed to a universal tradechat system. Good, but only in theory. Here's THIS list of Pros and Cons.
Pros:
-All the deals can be seen from any Haven.
Cons:
-The chat is overwhelmed by all the tradechat that is flooded into the game.
-The person making the offers can potentially be overwhelmed by a ton of whisper chatting that it's near-impossible to manage properly.
-You can potentially need to "Channel-Hop" anyways, because your customer/dealer can be on a different Haven anyways.
As I've thought about these different styles, with their own Pros and Cons, I've come to suggest that you either change up the tradechat style again, or revert it to the style before the update. Thank you for your time and I hope to hear of any word from you guys, or anyone in the community who wishes to support this suggestion, or even give their own suggestions on improving the game, whether it be the tradechat, or anything else they would like to mention.
