The 1st year (experiences from a player that has been playing for a year)

Well its been 1 year to the day when I 1st joined SK, and so for many others, and for 2 day old QQers that want to have easier game play and think this game is WAAAY TO HARD. well here is SK when I 1st join SK, May 8 2011...
1) NO AUCTION HOUSE ( yea thats right, you had to bow down to darth basil and hope for that brute jelly recipe)
2) ONLY 2 BOSSES (Vanaduke and Royal Jelly, so you had to work to get to T2 just to meet a boss)
3) ROYAL JELLY WAS 10X HARDER (he regenerated ~50 hp per second, that was hard for beginners)
4) NO PUNCH/ ONLY 1 UV PER ITEM (yes, so you had to rage craft to get only 1 uv you wanted)
5) VERY FEW WEAPONS (no toothpicks, no trollarises, just mostly skill)
6) NO KEYS/ LOCKBOXES (so when you chose your character, you had to keep it)
7) NO MISSIONS (back then, kozoma sell the colbat recipes)
8) NO BLASTING GRAPHICS (you would lag really easily)
(there are probably more..)
So you see younglings, back then SK was WAY harder than it is now, so be grateful for what you have, and DONT complain for more things that would completely ruin the game play, although most would shrug it off and contineu complain for dual weapons, no ME for arcade, and make everything F2P...
But remember, life is unfair, even in a virtual world, so deal with it.

Grittle must be my soulmate.
Best. Post. Ever.

while I don't think I see anyone complaining that the game is too hard... that was kinda nostalgic.
I started the week the AH patch came out.
Speaking of hard,
NEVER FORGET THE QUICKSILVER DANGER ROOMS : l

NEVER FORGET THE QUICKSILVER SET BEING RARE WITH 3 DEFENSES!

NEVER FORGET BRANDISH LINE CHARGES HAD A RANDOM CHANCE OF EXPLODING & HAD A SMALLER RADIUS!

When brining a fire/shock weapon into a oiler/quicksilver area meant instant death.
When you had to pick your gear or a whole stratum because there were no arenal stations.
Trokia had only 4* upgrade, and then they took away it's rocks in the charge(also no ice variant)
Edit: Blackened crest was a rare drop only.

When Slooms were possible monster spawns by breaking the cages in GWW/SF/other places that had them
When Love puppies dropped heart pendants and it was an amazing thing to see one

When there were only puppies as turrets.
When turrets had a field of vision of in front of them.

When people weren't asking "How do I get achievment" or "How do I throw snowball" or "Where is the first terminal"

When no one had all the achievments because they did not have the 10k mineral one.

Man, I miss the Khorovod rocks shooting up and doing damage. So cool. Why, OOO, why!
...when you could craft a 4 or 5 star for a friend and that was that. (although I still agreed with the binding to make it harder for rich players to have an "end game" of selling weapons to newbs for profit.
...when Quicksilver armor was but a pipedream. (I still like using mercurial armor for the movement speed!)
...when doing a Jelly run meant I could leave an alt on the first palace floor and loop it endlessly. Oh yeah, you can do the palace now from the mission menu, except the payout isn't even close to the 4700+ crowns for two floors that it used to be!
...when there were only 2 possible danger room configurations.
...when my friend could log in with his all white/untextured debug armor and trick people into thinking he was a ghost. (OOO patched this a few months ago :( )
...when I could use my Xbox 360 pad to control 2+ windows of SK at the same time with multiple accounts. Oh the snakey hilarity!
...when Basil was still a supertroll.
But I do love my rocket hammer now, so let's move forward with some real content, OOO!

To clarify Gell's coment about 4 or 5 star gifting, stuff became unbound when you upgraded it in the beggining so you could sell or trade anything you just crafted.

Don't forget vaguely threatening Retrodes and Zombies.
And the ce prices.

^ what he said.
...when you could block a zombie jump attack with your face and counter with your sword.
...when 100CE was 3900cr for a looong time.

When facing a alfa wolver meant running as far away from it as posible when it attacked, none of this side dodging crap.

When going into a graveyard with a group of 4 meant facing phamtoms almost all the time.

When phantoms carried gran fausts....
And the DA had a cooler charge =o
AND NO PULSAR LINE!
And wolvers used to follow you with their bites.

When you could access all content for free.

When shock meant you could not do anything for 2 seconds periods

when the haze series lasted longer and you could give a negetive status to the bots in the shooting galery of the ATH with them.

@ Triplejuances i'd say that is too recent.

"How do you get the gran faust that shoots 3 swords????"
haha

you guys are still missing out on so much
when menders could hurt you
when people ragecrafted haze bombs
when there were no candlestick keep
when the prismatech line was the worst alchemer
when there were more than 50 people playing blast network

When Vatel was still vendoring in his peaceful little shot UNTIL PUNCH AND VISE BLEW UP AND TOOK OVER FOR THEIR BUSINESSES!
When people actually played Blast Network... Where did that specific good time go? D: Now I have to play crappy Lockdown to get Krogmo Coins...
When Brandish charges did way less explosions.

When people actually played Blast Network... Where did that specific good time go? D: Now I have to play crappy Lockdown to get Krogmo Coins...
When Brandish charges did way less explosions.

When Rage crafting haze bombs for 10CE only and being able to obtain UVs with hard work, mats and determination. Oh and to comment on CE being 3900cr, XD I was here when it was 2000cr Q.Q.

When the town square was a barren land visited only by new people.

Heck, I remember asking that question myself before seeing it repeated umpteen times a day by every noob that wandered into Townsquare.
I also remember how the kindness and helpfulness of a few "pros" early on made a world of difference, and tried to do likewise.

when getting 1* mats was hard if you did not have the ones you needed.
When all you could see in the chat box was the trade channle.

great job changin stuff up
btw JK was to hard before you would need a 4* or higher squad to easily kill him. I almost cried at how easy JK was when the nerf patch came out

...when the arcade was actually populated by over 20 knights.

NEVER FORGET WHEN OMEGA SHELL WAS ONE SHIELD TO RULE THEM ALL, AS WELL AS THE LEVIATHAN BLADE!

When the brandishes were only until 3 stars... And they were all katanas like the Acheron.

I don't come from Beta. I don't count.
9) CE PRICES WERE STANDARD AT 3.5K CR FOR 100 CE, AND SWORDSTONE SOLD FOR 1K CR(yes, this meant that anyone smart enough to farm back then got RICH)
10) ARENA LOOPING WAS CONSIDERED LEGITIMATE BEHAVIOR BY THE PLAYER-BASE (Thats right, we still did the same level over and over again ignoring much of the other content)
11) PEOPLE ACTUALLY BOUGHT BOSS TOKEN ITEMS, AND 4/5* GEAR WASN'T BOUND (It was actually easy to sell stuff and get crowns for it. Much less farming, and even before that, and a market that flowed like a river)

flamberge's charge used to burn people, it was so fun.

When trojans cannot be shield-bumped.... and if you are trapped by one during solo that is pretty much GG for you.

Don't forget when oilers were the hardest enemies in the game! lol

ahhhh, and i remember when the highest haven was haven 9....

^and then when SK joined Steam, it went up to Haven 89...

When quicksilvers and oilers didn't die in 3-4 hits. >.>
When they would be fully healed by the time you are paralyzed and gripping in pain with your eyes to cradle because you realize this danger room would be your dying place.
When all the weapons you needed could be bought from NPCs, not all this hall of heroes stuff.

When blocking a single Greaver meant a broken Shield after two seconds as well as a Status Effect.

Most Beta players seen this game grow some have been playing Sk for over 3 years the changes are great ( I mean honestly if you complain this game has no content I am sorry to say....you know nothing about Sk) but we all agree the gameplay is just getting a bit more easier, but then again the same players who keep complaining the game is hard are trying to get double and triple max uv's (Ironic?).
If I could, I would give you a Medal.
