Question about damage bonuses and UVs

If I have full skolver and a barborous thorn shield and that makes me sit at maximum damage, if I buy a weapon with a UV (example dmg vs beast high), will that stack onto it? Or is there a cap and the UV is useless?

No, the UV would be useless. See the wiki page "Abilities", to learn how abilities such as these work.

Yeah pretty much only status

Yeah pretty much only status resistance stacks above it's supposed maximum.
