Unspoken change in LD. Intentional or Not? (June 7th, 2012 Patch)

**This is not an offensive thread to Three Rings, just a simple question to them**
I have no idea why three rings has changed something in today's (June 7th, 2012) patch without telling anyone.
After playing LD for awhile now, I know how someone dies, I know how many hits it takes to kill someone. In today's observations I've discovered the following:
Pre-Patch
- A knight could only take 1 hit (very rarely two, this has to do with milliseconds and stuff... complicated) per 1 second
- A knight would NOT die by one blitz charge.
- A knight would NOT die by full 3 swing combo of FF/BTB.
- A knight would NOT die by standing in the middle of a RSS with FULL health.
- A knight that is trapped by enemies (called grouping someone or just basically being mobbed by the opponent) would NOT kill the knight instantly.
Post-Patch
- A knight can take multiple hits in 1 second resulting in faster death.
- A knight dies very, very easily in one blitz charge.
- A knight gets hit by all 3 final flourish hits now (even with ASI max)
- A knight dies instantly by standing in the middle of a RSS bomb.
- A knight that is mobbed by a group of opponents now dies instantly if every opponent is swinging at the said knight.
I didn't want to flood this thread with example so I just put 5 examples.
Question for Three Rings -
IF this was intentional, why did you not put this in the patch notes for today's date?
To the community: I know this should be in a support thingy and addressed to the GM's directly via bug report and all that but, I felt that the community should know what they did/did not do whether intentional or accidental.
To Three Rings: Please try to answer this and fix if this is an issue or at least please give an explanation for why this update was unannounced.

This is an important point, but may be lost with the general thread title you have chosen. Perhaps change the subject to something specific, like "issue: no cool off time between weapon hits in lockdown"?

This title is good. Maybe it's a bug. Certainly strange.

The patch removed the invincibility frames.
Though a thread was already started here.
But to your credit, the title isn't very good.
Max gun damage + Recon + AP/Sent = Epic fun times =)
Bonus points for blitz needle charges killing multiple enemies.

@ Sypsy - This is not a thread about AA or anything like that. This is 100% serious as stated above :). Before you say anything please learn the facts. NOR is it about lag. This is the june 7th patch update notice not the june 6th one.

This was not an intentional change, and we've not seen widespread reports of this. Is this happening to the rest of you, with the same symptoms?

A lot of people have talked about in the games that I've played but they see it as part of the patch that was just put in...
Apparently when you are 'mobbed' or pin balled around it kills you instantly in a second. This didn't happen before the patch either so it looked like you guys put it in.

Oh yeah. I've gotten killed several times in less than half a second, starting from full 5* guardian health. Just enter a match and try for yourself- almost everyone has fast swords and ASI equipped. This is definitely known, and being exploited by, the players.

Could you have these folks submit bug reports in-game (via F2) when this happens to them? That would be most useful for us.

well... not so fast... i actually think it's a good bug

Agreed. Now I can finally use my Pepperbox again, and my cherished Vile Striker will be usable. The dark reprisal might become very handy also. I wanna try before it gets "fixed". (I might call it damaged, but I wouldn't be angry about that.)

@ Autofire and damienfoxy - I believed that is called abusing a bug which is against the terms...

This bug makes LD broken.
gg with warhammers and blitz needle one-shotting anyone without two heart trinkets.

Oh, I forgot about that. Wait, does that mean I'll get banned for playing LD? Will I get banned for using certain equipment?

Not really, since this is a widespread bug that you really can't blame anyone for using hammer or blitz

If it is a "bug" then it is a welcome one. More challenge? Yes, please. So, yeah, take all your time you want to "debug" that, please. The later, the better.
Also, it gives many, many weapons that couldn't be used in Lockdown a chance.

I will report it since it was not intentional and may lead to further messups, regardless of how much it improves a gunner's odds against a swordie.

I don't know about you guys, however with this patch, it seems to give an edge with gunners as far as giving damage.
I'd be alright with this if it this change stayed for gunners primarily. The swordmasters (Myself) could use a little challenge. :)

@Eury yes, i noticed this right away, i'm glad that you cleared that up for me, cause i was about to think of reasons why i hate this patch :p

Yea, clickspammers definitly love this.
If lockdown was meant to be like this you could just get killed in under 3 seconds by a skolver so im hoping it gets fixed.

i'm getting killed alot yes, but i don't have to deal with people who seem invicible as well

eury, what they are whining about, is not being invicible after getting hit.
they should NEVER have had that period of invicibility in the first place.

Holy crap, I was under the impression there wasn't an invincibility period in the first place.
I remember being able to shoot and switch to DA and having the DA slash not register - now it all makes sense.

after yesterday's patch,the Java.exe 's memory usage is very large:(.and add a new language in the game.
Maybe this changes above is for Chinese players? temporarily changes for test?

I've noticed the same problem. Hammer users in Ld are annoying enough but now, they use ONE COMBO as a recon and BOOM you're dead before you know what happens. I've sent in a report. please fix it, it's really unfair.

I just noticed this when a guy with a striker and another with snarble barb teamed me and all striker hits connected. I was a striker and couldnt even boost sideways and counter.
Thats seriously cheap. Lockdown will no longer take actual skill if ppl use striker combos all the time, instead of the PRO way of shield canceling with a flourish. It will lose its appeal for some of its players.

@Psyko: You got teamed and died. That happens to me all the time.
Now weapons that sucked before (Cutters, Autoguns, DR) are now usable. I've been teamed by cutters, flourishes, and many others, and survived to tell the tale with me trusty DR. And then a gunner (or someone with Trollaris) comes along and spoils the fun. Do I see a COMBAT TRIANGLE here?! Yes, Bombs -> Swords -> Guns -> Bombs!
If the games I played are any indication, it's just fine the way it is now. A "bugfix" would be like the "bugfix" on the Pepperbox.
EDIT: I laugh at Rocket Hammer Recons. DR crushes them.

This is a different issue, about how striker wielders can connect all their swings, enough to make me stop/interrupt boost. It happened with TWO ppl. I would see what youre getting at if 5 flourish pros were overwhelming me, but this was TWO. The teaming added to it, but didnt cause it.

Not aiming to go off on a suggestion thread tangent, but I think the invincibility being gone is fine. I feel the true problem is the hit cancelling your actions, locking you in place. The stun cancelling locks you into combos in a very unfair way but the invincibility being gone opens so many weapon opportunities that I'd just hate to see it gone.
GMs will choose what they choose and I'll take whatever.

@Psyko: True. So perhaps an interrupt nerf on the Cutters (and, perhaps, the DR) is in order- but for PVP ONLY, keep in mind we don't want to mess up PvE.

@Sypsy Yesterday night it was not like this, not even close. When I went on the following day in the afternoon is where I noticed it. If this was over night, sorry. If it wasn't then it was the 7th. Either way it's a mistake neither of us want :). At least we know it wasn't intentional!

Yes, there is more variety in LD, so what is the fun in there being killed by a cutter or blitz and you can do nothing about it? It's like your accepting death.

Stun those blitzers with Callahan or Stagger Storm. They will become a sitting duck once they unleash their charge!
And cutters...isn't the flourish first swing long enough to counter them?

according to one of my friends (he knows java and makes translation packs for some chinese players), he somehow found some half-done chinese translations, i can read chinese and found most translations incredibly weird, especially weapons, Gran Faust=高级妖艳剑? wt 高级 is GRAND not GRAN, Divine Avenger = 金光圣剑, wth is that? divine is 神圣 not "golden light" and the word avenger isnt translated at all "神圣复仇者“ sound better.
I'd love to see chinese compatibility so i can hopefully get some friends to actually play this game without whining about how its not in a language they know, well anyways, keep up the good work :P i can help with some of the translations if im free.
also LD is full of AA hammers and blitz spammers, i got killed crushed smashed by hammer and dont even know wut happened.. hammer is already boss in ld with AA, now its OP'd.
with australian 1 bar its even worse, got outa base saw small "explosion orb" and died showing xxx killed u with trollmaster troller hammer. just annoying

And yet people doesn't find flourish's long reaching first swing strike+shield cancel annoying.
They find brandish charges and hammer OP and annoying.
Here is a hint: wear elemental armors if you want to survive the hammer/brandish attack. I recommend the magic armor series.
This "bug" can make "X defender armors" more useful.

Think about it.
The slowest class is now just like glass.
I don't play LD, but I don't approve of this bug.
Unless guardians get SOME invulnability, remove it.

Nothing was intentionally changed. Given the reports we're seeing we're going to look in to it. Thanks for your patience.
