Unable to run in fullscreen mode [Resolved, Driver Issue]

So, I can't seem to run the game in fullscreen mode.

I can run it in windowed mode just fine, but if I try any resolution it goes fullscreen and prompts etc, but the game is distorted beyond recognition. I have tried many different resolutions, as well as playing with the advanced graphics settings (culling, compatibility and v sync) but nothing seems to change anything. I can't seem to post a picture of it, either, since the screencap turns out perfectly fine, despite my monitor displaying otherwise. I'm not sure if its my monitor or a display driver, since I can run other modern games at full settings with no issue.

If it would help, here are my specs:

Name: ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series
Manufacturer: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.
Chip Type: ATI display adapter (0x6899)
DAC Type: Internal DAC(400MHz)
Approx. Total Memory: 2549 MB
Current Display Mode: 1440 x 900 (32 bit) (60Hz)
Monitor: Generic PnP Monitor

Running Win7, 64 bit and I have whatever version of Java comes packaged with the game.

Greetings,

I'm currently looking into this problem. And have reproduced it using an ATI Radeon HD 6900 series using the Catalyst 12.1 drivers. Which driver release do you happen to be using? What are your current settings in the Catalyst Control Center's Gaming/3D Application Settings tab?

Also, if you manage to commit the changes to resolution and then restart the client your settings will remain applied the next time the game loads.

Thanks for the quick reply

Looks like I've been running CC 11.12, with the current version being 12.4.

I'm pretty sure the settings are at default, but they are:

SMOOTHVISION HD:Anti-Aliasing - Use application settings, [filter = box]
SMOOTHVISION HD:Anisotropic Filtering - Use application settings
Tesselation: AMD Optimized is checked
Catalyst A.I. - Texture Filtering Quality is set to the middle of the slider, with Enable Surface Format Optimization enabled
Mipmap Detail Level is set to highest quality on the slider
Wait for vertical refresh is set to the second tick, "Off, unless application specifies"
Anti-Aliasing Mode is set to highest performance, which is the first slider option
OpenGL Settings - Triple buffering is disabled

I have tried updating the driver, but I still need to do a reboot, I think. It seems that the problem is indeed only caused when changing resolution ingame while already set to fullscreen. Ie, I can go from windowed to full with no issues, but changing the resolution from fullscreen to fullscreen seems to cause the problem.

Edit: Yes, it seems that updating drivers (to 12.4) solved the problem. I can change my settings around with no problems now. Thanks a ton!
