Yes. I try to attack and never kill anything, I myself get 1-2 shot by anything that moves, and have absolutely no control over my character as she's attacking.

Don't look for elitists, find a group that -you- might look.

I usually sell them, but I was just given one by a friend who said he'll procure a key in a couple days. So I'm holding onto it out of respect.

Yes. I give beggers 1 crowns or a random weapon that I've been ragecrafting. They tend to stop begging after that. (Remedying the problem, instead of ignoring it!)

Yes, but that's what makes it fun.
Q3. Can shadow lair material be sold for a good price?
Most of the time, yes. However, the price tends to be a bit wonky at times. Ideally you want to sell the mats at about this price:
- Nightmare Mane: 20k - 25k
- Celestial Ore: 8k - 12k
- Gremlonium: 25k - 35k (if not higher)
- Maiden's Tear: 23k - 27k
Yes, Gremlonium sells at the highest price because no one does/likes doing Red Roarmulus Twin runs.

That giant cute fuzzy doggy-thing that I would snuggle with if he wasn't too busy trying to kill me
Q5. Is Firestorm citadel the most efficient way of getting crowns?
Probably the most reliable. With a bit of luck, recipe runs can get you a better profit though.

No idea. Not worth thinking about xD

Q2 - Only when facing a Skolver clone with heart trinkets and an auto aimed FF/Trollaris with a VH ASI. Which is always.
Q3 - No idea. Haven't done a shadow lair on account of the fact that I spend all of my crowns buying bacon, so I have none for Ce to buy a shadow key.
Q4 - Snarbolax is actually a typo in the game. The real name is Snarling Box. Because it is a box that snarls.
Q5 - Firestorm citadel is not the most effective way to get crowns. Robbing the bank is. It is advised to wear a bulletproof vest if you rob a bank.
Q6 - No idea.
Q7 - Pick the lock.
Q8 - Yes. There are Youtube videos about spiral knights on youtube. They include reviews, boss runs, normal runs, running races, the runs, silly things, and bank robbing.
