Heat, votekicks, idle ideas
I often get annoyed when I play through RJP. You have these people that beg others to tab them; if no one does, they kick the party, causing everyone else to lose heat. This removes everyone else's heat. I really would like this mechanic removed (although we can keep it for people that go solo). If not...
Could we get a votekick system, and an idle system? If everyone else in a party is on a button/elevator, but one person is not, a timer starts counting down. After a minute, he is warped into the party. Also, I would prefer that the party leader require 1 more vote to kick in parties of 3-4. If everyone else votes to kick the party leader, he gets removed.
What do you guys think? Most other games have a better party system than our pitifully old system.
Don't worry, they'll move it to the Suggestions forums soon. And there it will sit unread, as usual...
as for the idle, it should only work if the person hasn't done any new action. So if he's running into the same wall for a minute, he gets warped. If he's arguing with his team, it's up to them to kick him. Also, I see nothing wrong with making people drop things before warping.

Threads never go unread in that subforum. They may not respond, but at least one person has read it if it has been in that forum. One of those people will most likely be me.
Raisin nailed most of the points I was going to hang on my mantle, though the party amount variance issue is left untouched: what happens if only two or three people are there? With two people it would be stalemate; in this case removal from the party would be silly unless the other person is a complete idiot. In a group of three all it would take is two to gang up on one. I am not going to address the heat loss upon removal being taken out because I support it, though to what extent should it be allowed? After visiting the depository I thought of something: when a member is removed from a party, the removed member may not rejoin that party until they exit the Clockworks and start another run, which would be a different party anyway. The party would be based on the leader rather than individual members, the removed member would not be able to rejoin the party led by someone who recently removed them. This would prevent hopping past difficult areas by removal.
No idling. You went in the Clockworks to go in the Clockworks, not eat a sandwich. Smash your face in it between floors. I know I do. Hurr.

Real life often strikes us all.
And then there's the problem of the purposeful leecher. Why allow someone to reap the rewards if they're just going to AFK through it all?
I haven't seen many of these issues, though. I just run RJP with guildies, haven't done any random arcades in a while. And when I join missions/prestige, people generally want to play.
Still, having some preventative measures is never a bad thing.

What about the cases of dual trollars? You can't kick one without the other agreeing to it.
It would also pose a problem for people going down the elevator. 1 person refuses to go on, for whatever reason, and one of the party members doesn't agree to the kick for whatever the reason. Only way to get away is to go solo.

Idle warping leads to exploits on rooms wth pressure plates.
Easies to see on RJP. 2 guys can idle on the pads so the party doesnt have to do either rooms to get statues.
I know if a party does that there they'll look pathetic, but it's the simplest example to show. Imagine how many energy an inexperienced party would save on Ice Queen without sacrificing....
You may want to move this to Suggestions, by the way.
Good ideas, though here are some issues.
1. Votekick: It would be much better if the original kick function were replaced with this. +1.
The only problem is in parties of 2... Possibly a 'Leave Party' function which keeps your heat?
2. Idle: Neat idea, but here are a few issues:
1. People will abuse this (eg. in the IMF). If one person is leaving off the button because, for example, he wants somebody to hit the barrier over to the other one so they can go the more profitable and easier way, then this means that all the others have to do is wait and he will be pulled on anyway because of the extreme stubbornness of whoever it was.
2. People will do it for other reasons. If, 2nd floor 1st room in the RJP, three people were to go through and stand on the button, while the fourth picks up the statue, you will effectively have a mobile shield, etc.
3. Again, 2-person parties. If one person stands on one button and the other stands on another, there will be BOTH activating (if they got on at the same time) and they will go both ways. Possibly have a 'I got here first' mechanic - the first button stepped on will pull him over?
Apart from those, good ideas.
