I have worked for a few months on a flash app hosted on a website, a kind of changing room. It isn't finished yet (and it won't be for a long time) but I would like to get some comments or critics.

I actually think that's interesting, but I'd like to see how it's different (or better) from Spiral Spy.
I like the simplicity though :3
@The-Trial I didn't know how to code flash app 5 month ago. I learnt and did that.
@Pokenuevo : there is no instal needed, you could get armor and weapon stats, and its easier to use ( personnaly spiral spy doesn't work on my pc)
BUT : flash app may spend some time to load 3d models and I have to implement all items one by one which implies that the items list is incomplete.
@Tersakaff : Nice but useless? Maybe true...
I'ts missing lots of things, but it seems more direct than spiral spy. No browisng directories. Althoguht that can be a drawback too, for those that make custom things.
The head seems like it's been placed too far forward.
This will be nice when it gets done, spiralspy is no longer in development, it stopped working on my computer. So i have nothing to look at armors with, since a few wiki images can be deceiving.
@Orangeo: Yea, the head bothered me the entire time.
@OP: I think it could work as a simpler version of spiral spy, I personally see many people struggling with spiral spy, and seeing as this requires no installation (not to mention it displays the stats) it might be useful to most. It can't possible outclass spiral spy, since it's a different kind of tool, can't really compare the two IMO. And, are you sure you installed spiral spy correctly? You have to place it in your spiral knights folder.

@Ranick: The fact that it stopped being in development doesn't change much, it still works for me, it always has, besides, I always thought spiral spy was a way to access the in-game model viewer the devs use, it doesn't need updating. I'd prefer something like this in the actual game, but as long as that's not possible, your thing is perfect!
(I looked at spiral spy, it's totally useless for me. I can't load things by name, and don't see the in-game name of some random thing loaded. Useless.)
One suggestion: make keyboard control possible so that you can just go cursor up/down through all hats for example. (For looking for a costume by looks, rather than knowing the name of the thing you want to look at. Picking every single one manually would be a bit tedious for that.)
I had to delete all of spiral knights files to fix something awhile back, and spiral spy went with it all. After that, all attempts torun spiral spy just told me that i haven't placed the .jar into the sk directory, which i have. That is what led me to believe it no longer works. If you have a clue on what I'm doing wrong, do share, since I can't ask the developer.
@Ranick: Well, I'm not really sure seeing how you said you placed it in the right folder....

Note that I am using steam, If I remember correctly (for non-steam), it is located under users/yourname/appdata and one of the 3 folder in there should have the folder "spiral" in it. Make sure you place spiral spy in the spiral folder rather than the resource folder.

Finally something were I can plan out a good costume. Excellent work.
Seeing this positive feedback has convinced me that user interface can really go a long way, like making a limited program more desirable over a far more in-depth program. Spiral spy is and has been what you wanted to plan out costumes. All you people who don't use Spiral Spy make me feel like a genius for knowing how to use it, when I'm really not.....

One question, will you the models be taken from the game's files or will they be uploaded into the program by you?

By the way, would anyone happen to know what kind of models are used in the game? If I could find a program that allowed me to make models, I'd totally have a go at it… I think blender would work to make them, but I'm not quite certain of anything.

@Fehzor I happen to know that dev use 3dsmax and maya, clyde has an exporter for max but I guess you could use maya , blender or any 3d modeling software to do this kind of model.
There is no download link, no installation : It's a flash app. You just need to visit my website (which is not online yet). It's like flash games you can play on net...
If your phone or your tablet has flash player 11, you can use this 3d viewer on it. I guess.
I'm sure that this will be more welcomed now that the new armor textures broke SpiralSpy for armor previewing for most people.
I'm more than certain there are no new textures; rather, the method of how they're made to appear was changed, just like the Proto helms a good while back. If someone could figure out what attributes made those changes, then it'd probably work perfectly fine.
Of course, that someone is not me, since I can hardly tie my shoes without it violently exploding.
