A few thoughts after soloing tier 2:
.) May have just been the way the level generated, but the first level included long stretches of hallway between encounters that made it feel a bit "empty"--there was a lot of running between baddies without so much as a trap to keep me on my toes. I loved the concept, and there was some atmosphere (dead trees, etc.), but maybe need a few more traps, some persistent goo, something to break up the stretches between enemies.
.) I really like the poison/fire combo, and particularly the new turrets. A question: there were a few times when the turrets seemed to spawn additional poison/fire jellies, and other times not? On the first level I noticed what seemed to be new jellies being spawned from the goo the turrets would produce, but on the second level new jellies (non-turret) came from respawn pads, even when there might have been turrets in the room (maybe I just saw this wrong).
a.) If the turret goo does have the chance of spawning jellies: I can appreciate using respawn pads on the second level to keep a certain number of jellies on the ground--otherwise players could neutralize a room fairly quickly by taking out the turrets--but it felt a bit odd seeing the new jellies coming from respawn pads given what seemed to be happening with the goo from the turrets. Maybe reskin the respawn pads as pools of goo?
.) I love the respawning rockets, but beyond the setting of the levels as a weapon factory, I don't understand what the rockets are doing there--I didn't find any instances where using a rocket was advantageous in any way, to open a new area or otherwise.
.) I really loved the surprise/ambush outside the arena room on the second level: after crossing the fire and poison generators, my attention was focused ahead to the room and I was caught totally off guard, way fun.
.) I really hate mortafires (generally think they're more annoying than challenging), but I really liked seeing them pop up in something other than OCH. I believe there was an arena-style room in the second level where you had to take out gremlins, including mortafires, to stop the respawn pads from spawning new jellies. Under the circumstances, loads of fire everywhere from the jellies, taking out that last mortafire was a real challenge, but in a good way--not just chasing the last one down after having already cleared a room in OCH.
.) I was disappointed at the very end that the oiler baron and the giant scorcher didn't seem to agro to me at all. I took out the giant scorcher immediately with a few combos from my acheron, and had plenty of time to prep a charge attack, which took out the oiler baron in one go. I was expecting more of a fight from both.
