Before I start this off, I want to say that I have never personally used the Sun Shard lines so I can not offer a comparision to that, I can however comment on what I thought of the bombs, in general and in relation to the rest of the game.
For a 4* weapon, the current sun shards are far too powerful and I think a change is in order. I get what you guys are trying to, imitating the tactics of the old bombs, which I think you did quite well. I like the idea of the bomb, but I would have to agree with several other people as of this moment, they are pretty useless. If only for the reason they are so slow. I don't have an issue with the charge time or the fuse time, I have an issue with how long it takes the shards to explode after they seperate. They need to be no longer then .5-1 seconds, enough that there is a delay, but not enough that the monster or the player can just walk out of their range. Unless their range is increased to the point where it would be harder to leave the radius by the time they explode.
With that improvement, I believe these would be well received. I like the different damage types, and overall it will add even more depth to the bomber class, but again, increase the speed.
I disagree. So far, I have found that when I spam the bombs with CTR max (which most bombers have), the initial explosion from the second bomb knocks mobs into the shards from the first bomb just as they go off. So the timing seems good to me.
Yes, it is slow. That's something I miss from the old shards, RSS was much faster. I found that fun. This, the fun part is having a field full of shards going off, but it feels very slow.
