I never undrastand something guys.... When I went to the spiral knights wiki, I searched about the game masters and at the wiki said that they take their names from Greek gods, titans, or weather patterns and natural phenomena. I understand why they pick names of titans weather patterns but why greek gods...?
Game master names....
Those are the things that they talk about on the weather channel, and Three Rings is directly related to the weather.
"Anemoi has sent tremendous storms!" and "Cronus would be appalled at this stormy weather" and of course the classic- "Nick would absolutely love this weather!".
yeah but what about the name of another gm "Atropos"....
It's.. what they like, and maybe some fanning, perhaps? :x
Or maybe because they are Game Masters, so they have their own world to rule on, thus those 'god' called names.
Ye know, there's no need to be really curious about, I'm sure there's a history behind yer name as well, so does the other people. In virtual.
Taking the names of gods or titans was a tradition from OOO's first game. The titans and Greek gods were linked in one overarching mythology, and I suspect that it provided a broader pool of names to choose from. Weather pattern names were the tradition in OOO's third game, Whirled.
So when OOO decided to hire experienced customer service reps, they started with the support people from their other games, and we got a mix of different names. Interestingly, I'm told that more recent hires were assigned names; they don't always get to choose.
According to Greek legend, Atropos, Like Clotho, is the name of one of the "Sisters of Fate" who spin the threads of life.
I want a knight named Apollo or Orpheus. :(
But they reserved these names.
I guess it's just a tradition among them?
