A confused aloner. Please clarify OOO

Dear Oh! Lovely~ OOO,
I'm kinda confused OOO. Please clarify my questions 3:
1. Why was the patch notes posted before the patch was released? Did you know that people could have the chance to rage craft crystal bombs?
What Dawnstrike stated "The only reason to be outraged is because those people lucky enough to be near a computer and notice the announcement got a massive windfall. Rent-seeking by guys like Tersk who crafted a ton of bombs for tickets is unfair to the larger community who never had a chance. Think big investment banks who get to buy IPO stocks before the public can."
Some people had the opportunity to rage craft were some people didn't. This is unfair to people who live in different time zones. I was sleeping... were some people were standing near alchemy machines rage crafting to gain profit. That's sad.
2. What was the main reason for this Variant Ticket gift?
If it was just for a apologize thingy magingy for changing their favorite RSS, then you could've posted the patch notes after the patch releases so nobody could take advantage :(
Now people posting things like this pisses me off.
Overall, If you had dropped the news and patch at the same time, this wouldn't have happened.

That's the way the cookie crumbles when it comes to these deals.
Everyone except the rich people who fund this game's development get the short end of the stick whenever it comes to anything at all.
Because those are the only people they need to keep happy.

I think Three Rings did it intentionally to split the complaints of the original RSS owners (who were the ones that really got shafted) and the ragecrafting UV exploiters. United, the forum whining machine is a truly terrifying behemoth but divided they are just annoying and full of angst.
...of course I'm not at all serious, and while I know some people will actually take that seriously I just don't care anymore after reading so many of the posts I have.

it would work if they intended people to do this just because it was the goal, or if they wanted to use it for themselves without being accused of doing so i guess, that can go on next april fools :D

They'll probably chalk it up to a lesson learned: the normal impulse to push out release notes early probably lead to some unfortunate behavior in this case. The ringers COULD remove the tickets from anyone who crafted late... but I doubt they want to withdraw two popular things in the same day.
On a totally unrelated note, I haven't said hello to my old buddy NJwhatsisface lately. I wonder whether he prefers iambic pentameter, or anapestic tetrameter....
@OP
1.) It always is. The mail is always released about an hour from the patch.
2.) Just as a gesture of goodwill. Too bad that got abused to hell and back, as Njthug has so kindly shown us.
@Dorael
No, they just doubled down. We get people whining about the bombs *and* about the tickets being distributed in a stupid manner. Now they got twice the bile. Not good. For them. Great for us.
But as usual, they'll just stick their head in the sand and not say a word. I've been around long enough to know that.

after reading so many of the posts I have.
You haven't even been here half as long as I have. You aren't even allowed to complain about the forum community until you've encountered BehindCurtai, CienTao or GodofSkype1. It's a bannable offense.

I actually recognize two of those names. Wow, I had completely forgotten about GodofSkype too.

I've just been gone for most of a year is all. *coughs*

It just shows we cant trust in anything OOO does, they have their hidden motives in everywhere. Their secret agenda. Its obvious people would exploit this re compensation yet OOO announced those free tickets. Noone sane would do it yet OOO did it. Deception and manipulation.

Fully agree. Im super pissed off i missed everything since i was sleeping. Once again Three Rings fucks it up.
There was NO NEED for dumb apology UV tickets and certainly not letting people take advantage of it. I guess instead of making our Asian server Three Rings is looking for more ways to ruin themselves. I'm seriously getting fed up with this on every patch.
Inb4 Prismatic accessories are released making the 4.6m i blew on my halo useless since i will be seeing it for 400k on AH...

What is my crafting alt doing with 20 tickets? That alt was only ragecrafting crystal bombs for UV's, it did not actually use the bombs.

1. Why was the patch notes posted before the patch was released?
Simply because Three Rings always posts and mails patch notes before they update the game.
2. What was the main reason for this Variant Ticket gift?
Because the bomb changes players who had let use crystal bombs with certain uv's end up with useless bombs. Three Rings wanted to make the players with these bombs happy by giving them variant tickets as compensation and most importantly wanted to show their support for this line.
Side-Note:
Only posted that picture to show people that Three Rings didn't lie (About the variant tickets, and people failed to read the 24 hours to receive your tickets, so wanted to comfort them) regardless you can hate on me all you want to feel like BOSWICK.
Im sorry that I do piss you off, but then again people who can't read 500 topics asking the same question well they tend to piss me off, so I guess we have something in common ftw <69.
@Pauling ---- Hey Sexy <69
@Asukalan ---- Do you wear a tin-foil hat while playing spiral knights?

Seriously, this should be more about game content then profiting from losses. This came on short notice though, it should've came at least 6 hours ago I'd say it isn't right to not be thorough in your information and that it comes ahead of time. You don't have to worry about ce prices increasing temporarily as people likely would've had their CE cap. There was enough time to craft, but I was crapped on luck and the complete information came after the update. Why piss off a lot of consumers? What happened to that argument that the customer is right? I'd say just let the bombers that had the bomb a day or so prior to the update to have the UV tickets depending on how much ce they had at the time. Either that, or let the ones that didn't get like over 2 UV tickets or so to profit on the next update or promo, and exclude the ones that got a bunch of tickets this time. That's the message they want to send to us, that they want to profit from our losses. If I had a lot of tickets and didn't want to contribute clear info at the time, I wouldn't mind losing out on the next profit event.

@Njthug shouldn't you be in kitchen or something, making new batch of cookies for OOO?
The question no. 1 should be like this:
1. Why did the patch notes contained detailed information about recompensation and instruction how to get it instead of just a info about it, so people wont know exactly who will get recompensation and wont find out how to exploit it?

the only reason that i didn't insult, curse the dev with profanity yet, is because they will ban me if i do so.

"Overall, If you had dropped the news and patch at the same time, this wouldn't have happened."
Despite having taken advantage of this (and regretting it later, augh), I agree that they should've released regular patch notes WITHOUT stating the gift, and AFTER the patch, tickets to those with crystal lines, and a mail telling us that those who had them before got their tickets.
They surely did realize this will cause ragecrafting. They surely knew how to avoid it.
So then... why? .-.
"the only reason that i didn't insult, curse the dev with profanity yet, is because they will ban me if i do so."
I don't think they'll like this either. xD

As I was quoted above, I'd just like to clarify that I'm not pissed at the people who ragecrafted. It's only slightly analogous to the infinite-crowns arena glitch, where some people took advantage to make huge profits (and rightly got bans), because the wording was ambiguous and the payoff was not guaranteed. I know people who had opportunities to take advantage and didn't, because they felt that it was sleezy to do so, and I respect that; the people who took advantage are in a more morally grey area (as they exploited a feature that wasn't intended to benefit them), but certainly not out-and-out villains. However, I thought OOO would be smarter than that.
The stated goal of the giveaway was to compensate bombers whose weapons were being changed. The execution was horrible and failed miserably. As an example, I had my RSS (VH Construct) turned into a pierce bomb, which is trebly painful because it was 1) primarily used against undead and 2)now has a useless UV and 3) I must make a new bomb for elemental damage. That's not even getting into mechanics changes. THAT was the point of the compensation. OOO failed the bombers badly.
On the other hand, NJ's relentless cheerleading after getting his 200+ tickets is annoying. I do villianize him for telling us all how wonderful this patch is.
1. Can't really answer that question.
2. Some people's plans with their bombs may have been changed because of the new bombs that were added, so OOO gave out tickets to make up for it
