Why were UV tickets ever added to - and not only added, but take up a large percentage - CE promos?

Whatever happened to just giving a random something special that may or may not come back again (I'm looking at you, Regalia / Dragon Wings / Valk Wings)?

Was OOO really making so little money off these promos that they had to make it more of a gamble so that we'd be enticed to buy more? Are the promo items destroying the economy?

I understand that they are still free things that you are getting from buying CE, but as someone who has constantly supported the game through these promos, I'm getting kind of sick and tired of pulling a slot machine to get a chance to pull another slot machine.

(But to be fair, at least there hasn't been a fiasco as bad as the initial shadow key release)

Probability

Think about how many players there must be in the game. Think about how many people are getting these boxes. Do you really want every other person you see in the game to be wearing what you want? Things have small chances so they are rare finds.

I could have sworn there was already another thread floating around whining about how common some accessory was.

Oh I'm not arguing that everyone should get a similar accessory and thus look the same, I think the fact that some of the promo items are rarer (and more distinctive) to unbox than others is fine and good and actually preferred.

What I do think is ridiculous, though, is buying into these limited time promos, at 10$ a pop no less, to have a large (65% I think in this case?) chance to get something that is attainable in game at any time.

I think it's completely dumb. They should call them "Ticket boxes". :/

Remember the days of even item distribution? The Rose promos? I do. Tell me, how often do you see 2nd gen rose stuff around? Not too often, actually. That's the thing. New things die off with time.

I miss those days.

I HAVE AN IDEA

So

IMAGINE IF YOU COULD RANDOMLY GET RANDOM TICKET BOXES FROM CLOCKWORKS PRIZEWHEEL

AND YOU OPEN IT WITH A RANDOM KEY THAT IS RANDOMLY OBTAINED WHEN YOU MAKE ANY RANDOM CE PURCHASE

NOT TO MENTION THAT THE AMOUNT OF RANDOM KEYS YOU RANDOMLY RECIEVE IS RANDOM

AND THEN YOU RANDOMLY REVIEVE A RANDOM AMOUNT OF UV TICKETS,

AND WETHER THEY ARE 1, 2, OR 3 UV TICKETS IS CHOSEN... AT RANDOM

AND THEN YOU RANDOMLY ROLL ON THE NEW TICKET PUNCHER, RAN-DUMB

AND HE TAKES ONE RANDOM TICKET FROM YOUR INVENTORY OF RANDOM TICKET BOX TICKETS

AND THEN HE APPLIES A RANDOM UV OF RANDOM POTENCY AND APPLIES IT TO AN ABSOLUTELY RANDOM ITEM IN YOUR INVENTORY...

ISNT IT AWESOME??! NO GAMBLING OR RISKING WHATSOEVER WITH THE NEW RANDOM TICKET BOXES
