Your argument is valid.
What are you doing, OOO? You do realize people quit and stop spending money because of some uninspired decisions?
Finally!
I am vindicated! Now you see what I have been trying to tell you all this time?
* sighs in relief*
THIS IS Y U DONT PAY REAL MONEY FOR A PRIZE BOX THAT MIGHT JUST GIVE U A 1UV TICKET U GO TO THE AH AND BID ON WINGS, HALOS, TAILs ETC..............
HOLD IT!
New evidence gathered yesterday shows that there is ONE Leafy Aura on the Auction House. Your honor, ignore the defendant's angry caps, and think to yourself, "If I wanted to get one for me and one for a friend, what would I do in this scenario?"
*shakes head*
Gambling is a serious crime...
The only way is going to win the bid war, or wait for Featured Auction.
featured auctions always take days so i think ill just go find a "buy now" item
Well, I am afraid that this really can't be called gambling since you ALWAYS "win" a prize from these promo boxes.. but just for the lulz.
http://www.gambling-law-us.com/Federal-Laws/internet-gambling-ban.htm
Now if Three Rings made you pay $10 for just the promo box which had a 65% chance of giving you NOTHING instead of a crummy UV ticket.. then they could be hit by the internet gambling law. They would also need to make the game 18 and up at least.
Its a good marketing scheme though! "Pay $10, $20, or $50 and for a CE package and get this FREE box that has a chance to contain amazing shinies! Please note it has a 65% chance of a UV ticket, 34% chance for recolored items, and 1% chance for a NEW item! The range won't be on your side because of how many things we shoved in this box! What if you don't get the shiny? Buy another CE promo!" :D
no u go do a few thousand FSC runs and then buy it off some guy who got that 1%
These are three things that got me hooked on this game, back when it first came to steam:
1. The lack of gambling shenanigans
This was a big one. Getting tired of seeing the "+ yourz weaponz forz uberz powerz (whoops, it broke! U mad bro?)" thing in games, and this one did not have that. You crafted, leveled, and crafted some more. You did not have to spend money or put time into getting something where you MIGHT (at a .01% chance) succeed.
2. The lack of gap between P2P and F2P people
If you put in hard work, you could become as powerful or rich as someone who spent money. Granted, they would get there faster, but that's because they put money into it. There was no "sp3nd m0n3y 4nd y0u w1n!" type of deal.
3. OOO was actually listening to us and communicated a lot
More so then than now, it was nice to hear from the people your money was going to. On top of that, they were actually listening to our suggestions, unlike most game companies
4. The community
Very nice, (mostly)mature community compared to 99 percent of other games out there.
All of these things seem to be fading away now. The community is getting frustrated, which I fully understand why. Things are not being done to fix things in the game, we still have yet to see the "Combat Options" mentioned back in may(?), still no guild features, equipment balance is still bad, economy is still being exploited to raise the price of CE which discourages new players from getting hooked, communication from OOO is declining, more gambling elements are being added, the gap of P2P and F2P people is increasing.... meh, too many things to mention. The main thing that disappoints me though is how the people in the test server were essentially ignored in regards to the shard bombs. If you ask people to test things for you, you should listen to their feedback. I played another game where essentially the same thing happened. That game is dead now.
Even if the P2P players can get from Rescue Camp to Danger Missions in a few days, this game does require skill so the F2P players will have that long training period so that when they do reach a high level, their much better then the P2P players.
Trollingyou, well that had to be fun back in those time. Right now it seems that annoucment of new things are just published to make people stop asking for them, its like "hey we could use guild updates" then OOO says "oh you know, coincidence, we work on them now" then after weeks someone says "uh where are guild updates" and people just answer him "hey you didnt heard they are working on it" "but it was long time ago" "but they work on it"
Who is this icyvampire person and do they know the minumum age is 13? I won't even bother quoting their "beautiful" posts, pointing, and laughing.
"I'm a bit confused: how can you both claim to be a fashion player AND dislike how OOO keeps feeding fashion people with some vanity accessories?"
Yes, you are very confused. I dislike the way OOO does it lately, not promos altogether. I like them. But not when I get a ticket 50%+ of the time. And regarding this promo, "I mean, a turd-green Spiral Sallet, who actually finds that good looking?" you said it yourself.
"The fact that boxes do not always give an accessory just make them even more rare and lusted anyway"
No, no they don't. This is a players logic: "Should I open a box or sell it? Oh I can get a variant ticket instead of an acc... not buying the promo then."
