We've seen some of the old "What is your favorite Lockdown maps?" topics, so now it is time for Blast Network. Here is a little survey that I'll put:
1) What is your favorite Blast Network map and why?
2) What would you want as a new map? How would you have it designed?
3) What is your least favorite Blast Network map and why?
4) Would you change any maps? How and why?
My Own Answers (Note: I almost only play Random Team, so I might answer a little differently)
1) My favorite map is Backdoor because it is easy to get around the map without being spam-killed all the time. It allows for teamwork, working from the sides and middle of the map to reach an enemy and trap them. A quick escape is also viable through the "backdoors" if you find yourself in a desperate situation.
2) I want a map with a switch in the middle (similar to Rocket levels) that opens and closes gates scattered throughout the level. The overall design would be similar to Gridlock 2. It's a rough idea, but I can expand if it seems unclear.
3) I actually don't have a least favorite. Originally it was any Rocket map, but I soon learned how to strategize. I would hate getting stunned, then someone would trap me while I could do nothing.
4) I would change the Crystals 2 to not have as much space in the middle. I decided this after a 1v2, in which I took the bottom, the other 2 were on the top, and we kept placing bombs. Overall, it was a standoff that nobody could get each other. We eventually left to go to the sides instead.
Feel free to add anything else, or if you have a suggestion for a question to the survey~
Ohai Poke :]
1) My favorite is Crystals II because it's a good course for strategizing giving the lack of areas to spam in. I guess it's fun to play in for me because as an experienced player I've been able to try my hand at trapping more often then I do at spamming and less experienced players find it difficult for the opposite reason(although what you noted is true -- it's easy to come to a standstill in the middle).
2) I want a map with tiles that bomb explosions can go through but players can't go though. It'd make for some more interesting strategies. Of course the level itself would have to be large and with the special tiles arranged in a specific way, but it would be worth it :>
3) I dont really like Rockets II. Too easy to spam, too much lag.
4) Rockets II. I'd place some blocks in the middle to prevent spamming by running around in the center.
