I've seen a lot of people offering to craft and level up the item so they can craft it into something higher. How does that work? Don't you have to unseal it in order for an item to gain heat?
How do crafters gain heat for buyers?
For example, if you wanted to buy a Vog Coat off of someone, they would have to create a Dusker Coat, then equip it, level it to 5 and make an Ash Tail Coat (or use your newly created Ash Coat that is unbound) and then equip the Ash Tail Coat to level that to 10, then make the Vog Cub Coat. The newly created Vog Cub Coat would be unbound because no one has equip it.
They are both correct. When you craft an item, it is treated as a completely new, unbound item.
Hmm I may have read this different then you guys but let me give it a whirl.
You're standing in Haven and you see something offering to craft say an Ash Tail Cap free with materials or some nonsense correct?
So you trade them said materials including a Dusker Cap, and they make an Ash Tail Cap and give it to you. You're wondering how they go about doing that yes?
If so, chances are they have a level 5 Dusker cap already and are willing to make an Ash Tail Cap for someone provided they had materials, which when you give them a Dusker Cap, they get another to level and make more Ash Tail Caps.
Also, whether it is relevant to your question or not, they posts above me are correct on what they said regardless.
That is correct....they already have a brand new Ash Tail Cap ready to trade you for the mats. Once they have the mats, they can equip the dusker cap, go level it to 5, use the materials to make it a brand new Ash Tail Cap....and repeat the process back in town.
Crafted items are unbound, even if they have a leveled item as an ingredient.
