Soul lichens almost never spawn. You're very very lucky to have seen one... I haven't. And I've seen at least 10+ of every other rare monster.

I've had two Soul Jellies
I've had two Soul Jellies spawn at the same time.
I made them fight each other for rights to call themselves to True Soul Jelly.

I'm a new old player
The first time I saw one I thought it was a Sloom. I got so excited because I wanted to see what sleep did, but then I remembered that Slooms were taken out of the game, and I realized I just got hit 5 times for nothing.
