I just wanna start off by saying that I'm sorry if this belonged in guild recruiting forum but I wasn't sure so I was like when in doubt just let some senior forum member point me in the right direction immediately as the first comment (probably).

With that aside when I first started playing spiral knight the first thing I remember is I wanna own a guild so me and my friends could say we own our own guild, so 2 weeks of straight tier 1 arcades later and boom I got the guild. Shortly after I then thought it would be fun to try and get other people to join the guild but I stopped after some random guy asked what benefit do you offer. I realize that the guild updates are coming out and hopefully I could just bounce off of that, but I wanna know how do guilds get members to join as of right now. What do other guilds do to attract people to their guilds when they first start off.

find a niche

I think that this belongs in General Discussion, not Guild Recruitment. :)

You apparently formed your guild for the same reason that most guilds are formed: It's fun to be in charge. There's nothing wrong with that, but there are simply too many guilds in the game, because everyone wants to be in charge.

You need to find a niche. Here are some niches that I have seen over the years:
* elite PvP
* helping newbies
* old players only (say, 25 years old or more)
* certain time zone only
* projects to help the community, such as collecting data on weapons

Whether or not you find a niche, maintaining a guild takes work. You need to get some reliable officers. They need to recruit. As people stop playing, you need to replace them. Unless your guild is elite and highly desirable, then it will die if you don't actively work on it.

It's how you connect with the community

Usually if you have a way to be known among the community, people will have an easier time to join your guild.

Some examples: Lockdown, forum posters, costumes, community support projects (e.g. spiralspy, CE market watch, podcast, walkthrough videos), Wiki editors, etc.
