Why am I so terrible at T3 LD? My gear isn't the problem.

It really bothers me. I've played this game for YEARS, first as Lejudicieux (Sold all of my stuff and quit) and now Vauxyis.
I have the following equipment, and play as striker:
--> Skolver Cap --> Shadow High
--> Skolver Coat --> Piercing Low (I plan on rolling again someday)
--> Final Flourish --> ASI High
--> Gran Faust --> ASI High
--> Gigawatt Pulsar (4* Polaris, I'll upgrade EVENTUALLY)
--> 2 X Penta-Heart Pendants
And I'm terrible. It took me forever to understand that it's not the equipment's fault; people with no trinkets and UVs just mow over me. I cannot manage to swing my swords more than once w/o dying. I've seen others go against 2 others successfully but I can't kill a single full health foe. I've tried Auto-Target both on and off. Nothing helps.
I enjoy being a striker and the style of fighting, I'm just not getting it nor am I getting any better.
Tips? Thoughts?

So much 1 on 1 with Strikers. I get 1 strike in or miss and then get slaughtered.
Also, Guardians. I cannot seems to break shields without completely leaving myself open.

It isn't your gear which is the problem, it might be your play-style. When I first started T3 LD I had a skolver set, toothpick and DA ready to be a striker but I found that I was more adapted to being a Guardian. Just try out the other classes, you might be better at those than you are at striker even though you might prefer it right now.

Dw, I suck with swords as well. Lucky to get more than 3k damage. 12k with guns though and drive people crazy with bombs. Don't just assume that runnin' around swingin' the standard skolver build is for you; play about with weapons, styles and such, find what works with you.

Vauxyis, ye're not the only one facing this problem now on.
It's been a year, no gear issues, as well. I used to be one of those french girls dancing like a boss. (i think i went overboard) Now? Some ordinary player, deproved after a year and on. Said myself, no more tears, perhaps it was too long for me, so I've thought of letting myself away from serious games.
Sooo.. let's have ye elaborate yer story here for us, maybe we'll discuss.

If you have the financial facilities, and I assume you do with UVs like that, I'd do what these other guys here suggest. Maybe running swords just isn't your thing, maybe Striker just isn't your thing. Personally I do far more damage with swords and Striker, but that's just me. I played Guardian and Recon (mostly Guardian) a lot before even trying out Striker, under the false assumption it's impossible to play without trinkets. It's harder than normal, but Striker is just more comfortable for me to play regardless.
If you're determined to be a Striker, I can offer you some help, but don't limit yourself to one class or one weapon-type just because people complain about it being OP or something.
Just a little tip though since you said mostly 1v1s: Don't use full combos, particularly without Auto-Aim, and particularly with a Gran Faust. Gran Faust's 2nd hit, unless you're guaranteed a hit, is risky to use because of how long it takes you to recover. And Final Flourish's full combo is only to be used in desperation, or just to get that little extra movement. The jabs are less accurate than the 1st swing, which is why most people swing once, boost, swing once, boost, and so on.

To be good in lockdown, you need skills, not awesome UV's. Don't just limit yourself to a swordie striker. Try using other classes like recon or guardian. Also, try being a gunner or bomber. You might just discover something that you really good at! That's my advice.

That is the key line here, really. Plenty of the of the well-practiced pro strikers can do (nearly) just as well in fencing jackets and protos.

How many bars connection do you get in the top right corner of your screen?

@Darkbrady: Ha! "Long-term strikers." I've been playing this game for longer that a lot of your long-term strikers using every last loadout imaginable and I'm still probably the most awful player in all of lockdown.

Also, in LD, my crowning glory might be defeating a player. Truth be told, I'm just that awful. I haven't gotten over 3k damage in 5 months. Also, I'm pretty sure that I do better with NO weapons and proto armor. No, really.
The fact is, if you're not good at any class whatsoever in LD, then it's probably just not for you. maybe you prefer a game where actual logic is involved, such as Blast Network. That's the case for me, anyhow.

D'awww Micheal. Poor you! D: Edited just for you :)

I'm more of a trapper. I play as a recon. My style involves capping a point (usually the closest one to the enemies) and then waiting and cloaking. Depending on who comes by to cap it back, I may either wait for him to go by or a start attacking. If I start attacking, I make sure to kill quickly before help comes, then I slip back into the shadows, waiting for some more prey. :P
I have really distracted teams doing that. I play T2 being it is more balanced, as well as a tad slower paced. T3 is the hardest of them all.

I can run out my best equips, which rival yours, or are better in some cases... and I'm still not very good. I mean, DA ASI High, Chaos set shock max on both, shadow high on both, or Vog set fire max, or snarbo fire max other UVs, and guns galore. FF ASI med, doesnt matter. I average about 9k damage as a recon dropping my CTR High GLacius charge all over the place. Im much better at T1 LD guardian than anything else. I average about 2k damage in t1.
Don't feel bad, some people just aren't good at LD. The only thing i can say is practice, try out other classes, and see if there is one where you aren't a detriment to the team. That's how i play. So long as i cap, and don't hurt our chances, i consider it a win.
man if i had that asi VH i would be geting 30K demage per match :O -.-
I think its due to connection to server. Some people have good connections so they get decent hit reg and can swing fast even without uvs. Other people have bad connections and can't swing fast even with uvs.
I would suggest playing on a wired connection. Damage isn't everything, you could try to focus on getting caps or acting as a distraction.

Try out different classes, because that what worked for me.
I used to get like 3k dmg with a striker
But when I tried guardian, my dmg skyrocketed to
7K

Did you bind shield on your left mouse click? I couldn't play striker with default X, too hard to manoeuvre. I never played a lot of LD, so yeah I'm bad too, but this helped me out big time.

1. play as deffender. i'm lame player too with slow reactions, i newer play striker. as a deffender i can do 10-20k dmg if ppls attack my spot;)
2. use penta health trinkets and maybe one quick strike trinket, i dont recommend slow grand faus, i use brandish line instead. if u miss with gf its wery bad and usualy u die.
3. dont attack 3 or more enemies if u are alone, just try escape and lure enemies near your team players
4. dont use all 3 attacks, just one or two swings and shield cancel.
5. use auto target;)
6. if enemies always hit and u newer hit, try swing litle earlier;)
just some random advices, hope its help and sorry for my bad english;)

GFs are very common weapons in LD. You can use them, but just make sure that you don't perform the second swing. It leaves you very vulnerable and your opponent can get in 1 or 2 counter-attacks.

hmm i do remember your old name, and i dont remember you being *awful*, though i mainly remember you playing guardian. i would have to agree with canine, a lot of "pros" literally just walk up to people and cut them without doing anything special - it may very well just be lag. they will move as a crow flies to their target, smack them and then type in cocky comments as though it took special skills. there are plenty of youtube videos showing this. if you get crappy frames like me theres a ceiling you'll hit against players who dont lag. if they're well practiced, they wont make any fatal errors that will let laggers like me kill them.
With that kind of gear, you should be kicking butt.
But I might need more information on why you're not doing very well. Do you have trouble with status bombs? 1:1 with other Strikers? Anything in particular? Just being "bad at LD" in general makes it hard to isolate anything that you're doing wrong.
