So the Honor stuff are actually equiptment that can be used? Or are they just costumes or something? :/
November 14 Update - Discussion
They're just fancier versions of the Leviathan Blade and Aegis. Nothing special, other than a cool look ;)
@ Lordofnecromancers
They are reskins of the Aegis and Leviathan lines.
12k upkeep is really low. I could easily maintain a 12k upkeep.
The problem is, that's 12k so I can put two empty rooms in my guild hall. Completely empty. Now, if I want to continue to expand so I can access the features that are actually useful, I have to pay an additional 12k for every expansion. This all adds up very, very fast.
And that's exactly why the entire guild (or atleast more then 3 people) have to chip in, it was all thought out around that. If it's just 1 person paying for all of it, yeah i can see why it'll feel really expensive but only 1 person shouldnt be paying it all.
Ermagerd.
The new Levi looks like the DA and leviathan did a Potara fusion.
No way you can't say it looks cool.
Well, say it and believe it.
I dun care how, I WANT ONE >:D
At least, one day :'(
Spotted some GM's lookin around. I think the EOS one blew some minds. Love the update, Sega and OOO, and really enjoy it! Guild updates, something we need and have always needed. =]
I understand that completely.
The problem is, every member in my guild except for myself is 3* or lower. Those members aren't able to bring in enough crowns to spare for the treasury.
I've tried and failed in the past to find any guildless 4*/5* players to join my guild. The ones that were guildless either preferred to join a guild that was already large and well-established, or they had no intentions of joining a guild at all.
It's a catch-22. I need more capable players to help the guild, but the capable players don't wish to join because the guild is lacking such players.
EDIT: Somehow this last part got cut out of the post. Here's the rest of what I said:
"I'm sure my guild isn't the only guild experiencing this type of problem. Small guilds obviously won't be able to pay for the upkeep that larger guilds can.
I think it'd be better if the upkeep was scaled relative to the guild's size. Guilds with a large amount of members would be required to pay more for upkeep, because they are much more capable of doing so. Smaller guilds would pay a lower upkeep, on a level that would still be high enough to require participation from all guild members, but low enough so that they can afford it."
ok, i want the snarbolax pet, tell me how
Oh my god, released on my birthday. best thing ever. :D
@Laraso: You are certainly not the only one with this problem. I am in the same situation.
It would be more useful if we could work our ways to certain upgrades without expanding the full hall, and also allow people to customize better. Say, if I want my guild to be entirely on the West side, I could maybe do a 1F West Wing and a 2F West Wing without upgrading the East Wing at all... This would also help keep costs low for guilds where it really is just one person paying for the upkeep.
I wouldn't want more people in my guild anyway. It is a private friends and family guild, but that shouldn't mean that we can't feasibly access the things other guilds can access.
I just realized how funny this is, since the upkeep is like taxes.
"Vote for Obama! He favors the middle class and small companies!"
"Vote for Romney! He favors the 1%!"
Will these be upgradable in the future? I'd like them to be. My wife and I have been playing since Spiral Knights went to Steam, but only play with just the two of us and haven't managed Vanaduke yet. Definitively would've logged in for a solo or group run to Vanaduke had I know these nice perks were coming along with the upgrade : /
@Laraso, @Vifig
Exactly. I am in the same situation... my guild is a small group of friends who know each other in real life, plus we don't all play regularly. But we still want to have a nice guild hall. The upkeep fees are unfair and unrealistic for a small group. I agree that perhaps upkeep should be tiered, with larger guilds paying more. Small groups like mine simply can't afford it!
SK team, it's not right to say that because we are a small group we're not allowed to have nice things... we should be able to access all the guild amenities just like a huge guild can. Please please make a change in the way this is set up! Paying a high, one time cost for the guild features is one thing, but upkeep as or more expensive than buying the feature itself is completely unsupportable. And we can't even access any of the features unless we pay for expansions we can't support.... not fair...
It's not supposed to be fair, or cheap. And I for one am glad. It gives real, tangible rewards to growing a large guild that can sustain itself, and it provides a really good crown sink which helps to lower the price of CE back down to something more reasonable for newer players.
I don't need it to be cheap. I just want to be able to open the things I want without opening things I don't need. I'm not wanting to jump straight to a mist well or whatever it is people are talking about, or something, I just want to only have my guild hall expanded on the West side and up, or have a snipe garden on the first floor, and things like that. I want to be able to customize without having to pay for empty spaces to reach the spaces I want.
So are the training halls coming in a later patch? I didn't get to see any response to that.
On Twitter they said that the training halls will be enabled after you have a 4F wing.
Already see the guild training hall. its awesome, but, i guess its the last expansion you can buy for your GH.
this update is awesome, but is a pain in the ass to the small guilds
Gives them something to work towards, I suppose.
Also stops people from spamming the 'Create guild' button. Now they have to do stuff with it.
Sees that there will be a guild hall update: YES!
Sees that it's gonna be a guild hall EXPANSION: Huh... Expansion? You mean we have to buy it? No... I must be thinking too hard. Maybe they put expansion to make it seem cooler.
Day the Guild Hall Expansion comes out and expands my guild, noticing you gotta pay for it to expand and pay for it to stay expanded: Why am I not surprised... ಠ_ಠ
/me laughs at all the people complaining because they already wasted their CE on leviathan blade
@Vifig: If it's quick access you want, there's still the Mission Lobbies.
-Windsickle
Does anyone have a list of the cost of each floor expansion and special room from the Birdsong Emporium?
Haha, nahh, I just like having a guild crafting machine. When I recruit new people to SK it was one of the stops on my tour... as was the view of the Clockworks turning in the background. Nostalgia really.
Oh man.
I completed mission 9-3 last night before bed, and foolishly decided not to do the "congratulatory" 9-4 missions and Vanguard promotion until the next morning so I had something to look forward to when I got up.
*play defeated trumpet horn sound here*
It literally would have taken me 5 minutes to do those had I known what I'd be missing out on. OOO, at least make the equipment upgradable? Please?
/e laughs at all the people laughing at other people's misery because they clearly lack a soul.
In any case, maybe make honour gear recipes buyable with prestige points? That'd at least give them a use.
I'm not laughing at their misery, I'm laughing at their foolishness in crafting leviathan blade, which is mediocre at best, just because it was "easy to find" the recipe.
I was really looking forward to the Guild Hall update. I thought this day could only bring joy and happiness to my life, even if only for a moment before I noticed my guild is far too small to get the large type of Guild Hall. Still, I got a content update, and I was happy. What's this? An Ascended Honor Blade? Whoa, this looks pretty cool! It's just the 4* version though...Apparently being JUUUST under the threshold for Vanguard gave me this. I'm a dedicated Calibur line user, and I absolutely love the simple yet effective mechanics. Makes the game a bit more difficult than Brandish-Blasting my way through a level. So I look around and see the 5* Honor Blade. This thing is AWESOME. Just. Awesome. Naturally my knights personal color quickly switches from blue to green, envious of this epic sword. "What if I rush to Vanguard, will they give me the upgrade? I know I can get there, I just need another day or two..." I started gathering resources as quickly as I could to get to the missions I needed to, but then I ran out of mist and so I decided to come over to the forums. To my dismay, it seems as though I won't get my 5* Vanguard Leviathan. Had I had some kind of warning that this awesome weapon would be mine if I was Vanguard by this time, I would have invested MUCH more time into this game, maybe even tried to get myself some CE via paying for it with some money from work and whatnot. Unfortunately I had no such warning, so I got slapped in the face with the news that I would be forced to not get a fancy 5* version of the blade that use the most and so dearly love. To say the least, I have an idea on how OOO can make it so that I can get my sword, as I feel kind of cheated. Make it so that we can use prestige to get the recipe's via the supply depot, or have sullivan sell the recipes for the Honor Blades to get upgraded for the next couple of weeks. Not to craft new ones, leaving the 2* recipe out, but to further any version of the sword that you currently have up to 5*.
TL;DR: I have uber sad because I can't get the 5* Honor Blade now.
" I'm laughing at their foolishness in crafting leviathan blade, which is mediocre at best, just because it was "easy to find" the recipe."
You would judge people on a simple choice of weapon that isn't something completely useless in every single way? Your ignorance amazes.
It's almost like beating on Cautery Sword users because they like it's design.
Also, I have one. /Themoreyouknow.jpg
I beat on them because cautery sword is terrible :P
And IMO leviathan blade is one of the 5 worst 5* swords in the game. Prove me wrong!
I don't have to. Your opinion is completely based on stats alone. You don't care for novelty value or any other value that can't be recorded in numbers, inclusive of effectiveness.
Arguing with you would be like asking a computer whether the egg came before the chicken. It doesn't matter, shouldn't matter, yet you decide it's something worth judging how much of a bucket you should be to a person.
Make all the recent Vanguards have that 5 star blade and shield D:
Can anybody list what you need to get the auction?
It's upsetting for me too! I feel way worse since my becoming Vanguard was literally 5 minutes away, had I not decided to go to bed and do it the next morning (which would mean an hour shy of the update for me in Singapore). I'm excited about the Guild Hall update and all, but this puts a huge damper on it :(
I hope there'd be a way for the rest of us to get the 5* versions somehow.
Pros:
- Free 5 star shield and sword, which look ten times better than the Leviathan and Aegis. Thank you, OOO.
- Garrison, an awesome Haven expansion which looks amazing! Especially the view from the bridge... :o
- Hall of Heroes upgrade, looks ten times better than the old HoH.
- Not sure if this counts, but some new 'lab' building. Extremely curious about this...
- Guild Hall update, YESSSSSS! :D
- Guild Hall furnishings and upgrades are purely cosmetical/ for bragging rights, except for the Mist Well which I don't really mind.
Cons:
- The furnishings and upgrades are extremely expensive, especially for an F2P which FYI most of the SK community consists of. 387k for a small snipe which I can barely notice? No thanks.
- Auction House, Krogmo, Bechamel and the merchants are available to purchase for your Guild Hall. Seriously OOO, PLEASE REMOVE THEM NOW. Just refund everyone who bought them and remove them. Why? I think that's fairly obvious... Haven is going to be made obsolete.
Can anyone tell me how many rooms does it take to unlock
guildstorage,
crafting machine,
mist well,
auction house.
thx
@Vifig: I hear you. I'd jump there many a time to circumvent the long loading time (and potential disconnection) to get to (most likely very busy instance of) the Town Square. And also spent many a hour just sitting there alone.
With regards to the Battle Stand-Honor Sword/Shield complaints: They are (practically) 100% free. If you press your argument regardless, do you support the giving of free Groundbreaker sets to every Knight also?
-Windsickle
I'm very pleased with the high crown costs (it could come down a little bit, but if you're not an awesome guild, you don' get awesome stuff, fair's fair)
*waits for the CE to crash so that new people can afford CE again*
When I started, CE was at 5.5k. When I left, it was 7.5k. I was at a state of horror to find that it was creeping past the 9k point when I logged in a week or two ago.
1. OOO implements massive crownsink
2. CE prices crash and make the game nice for new people
3. ???
4. PROFIT
Since I'm an idle guildmaster, I'll probably just jam pack my one room with furnishings and not buy any expansions :3
It's not "We want every piece of exclusive gear!" (Although I want a set of Black Rose... ah well) it's "We couldn't get the optimal piece of exclusive gear even though we logged on at the specific date, now you gave us a sword that will be useless going forward!" So add the Honour Alchemy Machine furniture to all GUILDS that were on on the specific date. Or whenever. Do it to all currently existing ones, I'm not picky. And this machine upgrades Blades and Guards with the same recipes as the matching Cobalt. Also, possibly the ability to make more Honour equipment. Whole armour set? I'd certainly nab an Honour Robe. It adds a little CE sink. Not enough to offset the drop from the existing update, but enough to mitigate the effect when, inevitably, the price slingshots back up... I think I'll put this post in Suggestions too.
Yes this, i love how this guildhall sinks massive amounts of crown, i love CE prices already.
Don't diss the Levi, it's a can do sword in every situation, especially it's charge attack.
While I normally don't get onboard whine trains like this, I do think that people who rank up while this "event" is still active should have their goodies rank up with them. And I'm not just sayin' this for me, because I've already got the good stuff; Vanguard rank and all that jazz. (Psst! Devs! This would give inactive players an incentive to actually PLAY your game, rather than just log back in once, see a sub-par item, and leave again. Just sayin'. I've got a friend who did exactly that.)
Honor blades and and honor guards cannot be unbound, sold or trashed. But is there a chance they will be able to be upgraded?
