I noticed after spectating the good players in T2 and T3 lockdown and i noticed that the brandish, and sealed sword lined swords were usually used as a second weapon. My question which is better for taking enemies out quickly. Currently i use the brandy line and it works pretty well for me, but i see most t3 people using the GF and DA. Im not sure which wep is better, or if they are equally effective.

They're different weapons.

They're different weapons. Neither is necessarily "better". Try it and find out what suits your playstyle.

Bacon from what ive seen with

Bacon from what ive seen with the gran faust two hit cimbo is that it can crush huge crowds but the second swing leaves you open to an enemys attack. But with the brandish you cant crush entire crowds and you are generally limited to fighting one guy at a time with it from my experience and from what ive seen.

Just in case you didn't get it.

.

That's not the same... But to be honest for me the brandish line is just bad, that's just a new fashion for "pro" who want to be hype.

Here's my analysis. Before I do anything, though, I would like to say I play as a recon so I do have to take ASI disadvantages into account. Okay, here goes.

Gran Faust
Pros: Shadow Damage (very few people have resistance to), High damage output, Crowd control
Cons: Low ASI, High time between swings, large openings for counterattack

Brandish:
Pros: High damage output, High ASI, Charge Attack
Cons: Elemental Damage (not very good vs. Vogs), Low attack range

Personally I carry both, a Gran Faust for an ambush attack and a Combuster for crowd attacks and finishing blows. The reasoning for this is- well, think about it- it's an Elemental sword with the damage level of a Divine Avenger but the ASI of a flourish and the charge of a gun...

To me, the Sealed Sword lines and the Brandish lines serve different purposes. I think the most important property of the Sealed lines is the knockback. Connecting with any Sealed Sword will create distance between you and your opponents, which will prevent your opponents from countering immediately. In addition, the wide swing allows you to deal tons of damage to large groups.

The Brandish lines -- and toothpicks, too -- don't have the same knockback as the sealed lines, so your opponent may be able to counter after you hit them, unless you have very good timing. The advantage to Brandishes is that they have a very fast swing, so they often allow you to get the first strike. However, the Brandish swing is pretty narrow, so it can be difficult to make contact.

Er...

Just want to correct this:

Brandish:
Pros: High damage output, High ASI, Charge Attack
Cons: Elemental Damage (not very good vs. Vogs), Low attack range

You can upgrade Brandish to Nightblade (Acheron) which deals shadow damage.

brandish is hard to use without AT, while GF is easy :)
GF - hilarious to double swing at crowds
Brandish - hilarious to spam charges and deal high damage with its quick attack speed

Get em both
