Not exactly. Modifying files is illegal. Spoilering content of files is illegal. Using Spiral Spy to look at stuff for your own uses (I'm not judging ;]) is not.

Nope, use of Spiralspy is totally legal. Only issue OOO has with it is if you use it to post spoilers. Spoilering yourself they don't mind, spoilering everyone else, however.
Messing with SK files is against the ToS, but it depends, to an extent. Generally it's just 'Don't mess', but they don't have a problem if you copy everything to a new folder and maybe use Spiralspy from there, or something.

And for the same reason I use 'Seerus', 'Mecha please', 'What the Firestorm' and the like; regardless of what the phrases would mean literally, they fit well enough into the context for people to know what the Slag I'm talking about.

It honestly baffles me how people could look at that and even have the possibility of it being a pet cross their minds.
Anyways, I can almost guarantee it's an enemy. I've been watching the newer version of black kat's model (not the one currently in the SK files, clever people will know where to find & spy the newer one) for the past week or so, and it looks... well... I obviously can't spoil anything, but I'll just say it certainly doesn't look like something you'd want as a pet.

A shadow type, kat look-a-like Sprite is not out of the boundary of possibility...
Not everyone uses Twitter, as a matter of fact. The people who uses the most Twitter are Americans...
So yeah I can see how someone (like me) could confuse this "new" enemy with a new sprite
Like Canine said, I had no clue what a black kat is and all I know from wiki is that it's a dark kat that has no info on it...
Edit: And not everyone will try to look on SK files for more info... I know Garry's mod allow you to use other Steam game physics and model but IDK if it work for SK, anyone can confirm this before I get Garry's mod? (because that's all I would do with Garry's mod...)

From the mention of Kat themed equipment and the picture of the Black Kat it sounds like either a Danger Mission, Expansion Mission, or possibly a new boss strata. I am personally betting on Expansion Mission or boss strata.
If it's a new boss strata it would be very amusing if it was not available via the Rank Missions. That would definitely breathe some new life into the Arcade.

It seems wonderful but...
I'm certain this will be DLC; it's not exactly because I'm broke that I'm saddened by this, it's that the last DLC had no replay value due to how dreadful many of its components were.
Mortar gremlins weren't hard to beat, just annoying due to how they'd keep spinning and you'd have to wait for them to stop or freeze/burn them.
Battlepods aren't challenging, they're tedious. Just waiting for it to become vulnerable was the most aggravating thing; also, the no status thing makes haze bombers near useless against them.
After spending 50 mist and about fortyfive minutes, you get about 4K crowns; after you've crafted the masks, it's probable that you'll never want to step foot in it ever again.
I hate battlepods, fo' rizzle; it's like waiting for a pot to boil just so you can hit it a bit.
I'm just afraid this DLC will just be another chore to get nice weapons as well.
Pessimist aside; I'm so glad there's gonna be something new to try soon! I wasn't that thrilled about the guild hall updates but I LOVE the idea of new things to do PvE wise.

You know what I would like to see?
A robot cowboy that uses a Sentenza-esque gun (deals shadow damage, resistant to pierce damage) that rides a horse which it can dismount from (while dismounted the horse can attack to deal element damage, resistant to element damage) in a classic dusty desert where the buzzards circle knights with low health and all kinds of weird robot-animal freaks wander the dunes.

All the lonely people, where do they all come from?
As much as I hate fiends and everything to do with them, a kat boss stratum would be a great addition to the t3 clockworks. Make it arcade only and bam, life is breathed into the arcade once again. I do hope it isn't DLC though. I would much rather have a normal ol' clockworks boss over DLC.

It is a new Tier 1 boss:
- Nick makes new Kat based gear. Most likely a crafting line.
- Vanaduke in Tier 3 is already a Shadow element boss, and Tier 2 has two bosses already.

Cowboy idea
Nice. Horse should have a rush attack regardless, then the cowboy can walk and pewpew. If he uses a charge attack while on the horse, he would still be able to move, and that would be pretty potent.
Also, I'm seeing people talk about angelic helms. OOO, make a helmet with a feind bonus and a curse weakness (with some other defense compensation). You will never get cursed while fighting feinds unless you use a faust, but that's a shadow weapon. On the other hand, undead + curse armor makes sense.
