Mostly when going through my materials I find it a bit annoying that the list for it is so long in my Arsenal. Having to scroll through it in 1 column really takes a while and makes it easier for me to miss the material I'm looking for.
I think it would be very useful if your Arsenal had an "Expand" button, which would enlarge your Arsenal with an extra column or 2. It would give a much better overview on your inventory in my opinion.

True... the new influx of a huge number of recipes has left the old placeholder UI feeling a bit overworked.
I'd similarly love options to sort by gear type (resist shadow, piercing, etc), but that one may be a longer ways out.

You can search for items via the little text box up the top.
Just one letter is usually all it takes for me to find what I need in my mass of materials.

Shoebox, you're missing the
Shoebox, you're missing the point. I'm looking for a material. That means I don't know the name. (there are over 60 materials after all)
Even for non-searching purposes, more columns would give a much better overview on your inventory?

Sorting!
Sorting algorithms should be easy to introduce and fit into the display. And they are purely client side, so nothing to worry about.
The priority should be to sort them by type (familes, firotech gun together in order, etc) and by stars.
Also, maybe give the arsenal window an option to expand, so it has 2 or 3 columns intead of just one.
I'd also like an option to sort my jank (especially materials, recipes) by star value instead of alphabetically by name
