Definition of Ordinance (According to the New Oxford American Dictionary): 1. A piece of legislation enacted by a municipal authority.
2. An authoritative order; a decree.

3. A prescribed religious rite.

Thinking it over, I guess definition 2. would suit this tumblr blog. A decree, an official order issued by a legal authority. Sounds about right.
